Herndon Homecoming Parade - This Saturday

Be a part of this community-wide celebration, which kicks-off at 9:30am. The parade theme is "In to the Future." Plan to watch the parade along Elden Street and cheer on the participants. You can also participate in the parade or volunteer. Click here to learn how to sign up.

Locust Street and its side streets will close at 6:30am for the duration of the parade. Elden Street and Lynn Street will be closed from 9am-1pm, which could impact access to the HCC and the golf course. Other ways to get to HCC and golf course besides Ferndale Avenue and Herndon Parkway, are from Vine Street or Park Avenue.
New Strength Training Equipment

Our Fitness Room upgrade is nearly complete! With the new addition of our Matrix Strength Lower Body Circuit, we offer a first-class workout space to rival that of any gym in the area. Matrix strength machines provide fluid movement, ergonomically sound comfort and the durability to stand up to the most rigorous exercise environments. Joined with our Rogue Rack and Upper Body Multi-Jungle, these units (leg press, extension, and curl; inner/outer thigh, ab/back and a glute/hamstring bench) bring together everything you need for an incredible workout!
Chandon Park Trail Improvements

Work on the Chandon Park Trail Improvements begins this week. The project consists of the installation of approximately 1,600 linear feet of eight- foot-wide asphalt trail connecting Herndon Parkway, Worldgate, and the Dulles Glen Apartments. Removal and replacement of the bridge to the dog park with concrete culvert pipe is also being done as part of this project. Access will be maintained to the dog park, tennis courts and ball field throughout the duration of the project. Funding for these improvements were obtained through grants from Fairfax County as part of the Herndon Metrorail Station Access Management Study. Substantial completion of the project is expected in December 2019.
