Dear HCT Members,

Over the past few days some of you have reached out inquiring about the new time off to vote law. Please keep in mind, the following rules apply if any of you wish to make a request for this time:
  1. Prior notice must be given (at least two working days).
  2. Three (3) hours is not guaranteed. The law says you may take up to three hours.
It is the law, but all I ask is that you use common sense and not abuse it. The polls are generally open for approximately 15 hours on election day (6 A.M. -9 P.M.), so being able to vote before or after school should not be a problem. However, if you wish to utilize this new law it is your right to do so.

Please read this copy of the law for complete details.

In unity,

Stephanie Sullo
President
