The Association of Chinese Americans, Inc. (ACA) is excited to announce the release of the organization’s first Mental Health Dialogue Series. Mental Health includes our emotional, psychological, social well-being and is important at every stage of life. This series will be focused on mental health aspects unique to Asian Americans from various perspectives. The first episode is titled “You Are Not Alone” with our experts speaking on topics related to Mental Health and COVID-19. In particular, how to combat stress and maintain a happy relationship, stress and racism, mental health and post COVID-19, and finally mental health resources in Metro Detroit.

Joyce Zhang is the Co-Founder and CEO of Alariss Global, a Silicon Valley startup that connects overseas workers in the Us with opportunities in Asia. She has been a leader in various Asian American organizations and a volunteer mentor for students who are having difficulty transitioning to new environments. She received her BA from Harvard University, MPA from the Princeton Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, and MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Fran Brown, PsyD, LP
President and Chief Executive Officer,
Michigan School of Psychology
Fran Brown, PsyD, LP is the President and Chief Executive Officer for the Michigan School of Psychology. Dr. Brown maintained a humanistically-oriented private practice and has worked in the behavioral health division of a large hospital system and in community health. Her areas of special interest include writing and communication, working with marginalized populations, and the implications of parentification in children and adults.

May Chen, Ph.D. is Associate Professor for the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience at National Central University in Taiwan. In her current position, she has been engaged in projects ranging from the psychological evaluation of violent and sex offenders to the development and training of EQ for school children. Her main research focus is in the area of stress, emotions, and health. Dr. Chen has previously taught at the US Military Academy at West Point, training cadets in dealing with combat stress.
