Nearly Half a Million Raised as
Chiefs Charity Game Beneficiary
As the 2018 Chiefs Charity Game beneficiary, we raised $485,000 for our children and families! This would not have been possible without our sponsors, staff, volunteers and supporters. Every dollar raised through peer-to-peer fundraising, every Charlie Hustle tee purchased and every raffle ticket sold were part of the grand total presented by the Hunt Family Foundation during halftime of the Chiefs Charity Game on August 9.

Game Day Recap:
  • 500 children and families joined us at the game!
  • 100 staff members and guests participated in the on-field flag presentation.
  • Cornerstones of Care Board Chair David Leavitt led the coin toss.
  • Staff members Pam Sanders, Ky Clement and Megan Elsen participated in special on-field experiences in appreciation for their outstanding commitment to the children and families we serve.

In case you missed it:

Thank you to everyone who joined us in this initiative to keep children safe and families together. And special thanks to our presenting sponsor NASB for all your support.
Partnering for
Youth Heart Health

Athletic Testing Solutions conducted free heart screenings for our youth in residential care thanks to funding from Strive for Life and the Jordan Robert Mann Foundation. Through the partnership, 57 youth were screened for congenital heart problems and abnormalities that don’t show up during a regular checkup or sports physical. We appreciate their partnership in keeping our children healthy!
Inspiring Foster Care Glow Ups

Being in foster care can be very difficult, and sometimes it can feel like the deck is stacked against you. But, having a difficult childhood doesn’t exclude someone from having a happy and successful future. From actors and comedians to public servants and entrepreneurs, plenty of amazing people spent years of their young lives in foster care.
Did You Know?

There are many types of foster care, including traditional, respite, treatment and medical. Kinship care refers to when a child, for whatever reason, needs to be temporarily placed with a family member other than their biological parent. In the latest episode of our Cornerstones Cares podcast, Richard and Saleese Dixson share their experience as foster parents of their grandchildren .
