December 30, 2019

According to legend, a loon sighting means a dream will come true or a wish will be granted.

Our mission includes providing support and education for those affected by PSC. Research, funded with your help, gets us closer to our dream of treatment and a cure for PSC.

May the new year be filled with wishes granted and dreams come true!

Any donations made to PSC Partners Canada that are received before December 31, 2019 will be matched, up to $30,000!
PSC Partners Seeking a Cure Canada was launched in 2015 to extend the impactful work of the US-based PSC Partners Seeking a Cure and to serve the Canadian PSC community. Highlights from 2019 include:

  • the launch of the Loon Duct, a quarterly newsletter for the Canadian PSC community (all credit to Loon team, Meg R. and Jessica T.)
  • a community meetup in Toronto with world-renowned PSC specialist Gideon Hirschfield
  • the funding of the 2nd year of Young Investigator research grant to Dr. Aliya Gulamhusein at the University of Toronto for the International Network Study of recurrent-PSC after transplant
  • sponsorship of a research fellowship at the University of Toronto - the fellow will be working in the lab of Dr. Sonya MacParland who spoke at the fall PSC meetup and described the lab's work towards understanding PSC in the liver at a cellular level
  • representation of PSCers at the AASLD Liver Meeting in Boston, CASL single-topic meeting in Ottawa, CASL Canadian Liver Meeting in Montreal, and the PSC Forum in Washington DC
  • celebrating WeThe North championship win and the Canadian PSC community together with all attendees from the US and around the world at the annual PSC Partners patient conference in Rochester, MN

Please consider making a year-end donation today and contributing to furthering the impact of PSC Partners Canada in 2020!
