February 2021
Life at the Pine Lane begins in February
2021 is off to a great start for the nursery and planting season is right around the corner. Our first shipment of trees has arrived and in a few short weeks we will begin planting thousands of plugs (baby plants) that will become our hanging baskets, patio pots, annuals and perennials inside the greenhouses. If you haven't already experienced our unique and locally famous hanging baskets, plan to do so this early this spring. We are expecting an exceptionally busy year again with the continued Covid restrictions

February is the time to start preparing for your healthy vegetable garden. We have a full line of seeds in stock; Renee's Garden. "Renee’s personal selection of new, exciting and unusual vegetable, flower and herb seeds, including time-tested heirlooms, Certified Organic seeds, the best international hybrids and fine open-pollinated varieties". Consider starting your seeds indoors late this month or early in March if you want to get a jump start on Colorado's short growing season. We have Jiffy starter kits, biodegradable pots, root boosting products, as well as potting soils to get you going. Also, as soon as the ground starts to loosen up you can start amending your garden soil to replace all the nutrients that last year's crop used up.

We are open every day and here to greet if you are getting as eager to get planting at we are!
What's happening this month at PLN?
Happy Valentines Day!
We got you covered! How about giving a sweet African Violet or some Tulips or Daffodils? Maybe you'd rather give an Orchid or a Mini Rose. We have these fun and loving plants and many more to choose from. Nothing says 'I love you' quite like a live plant (ok, diamonds probably work too)!

Our website recently got a bit of a facelift. Check it out!

February is a great month to get some extra attention at Pine Lane before the hustle and bustle of spring! Start planning your vegetable garden or look around your outdoor space for empty areas or areas for improvement. Make sure to think seasonally when developing your landscape to incorporate interest all year round.

We will be planting a Victory Garden this spring
Victory gardens, also called war gardens were vegetable, fruit, and herb gardens planted at private residences and public parks in the US and many other countries during World War I and II. In wartime, governments encouraged people to plant victory gardens not only to supplement their rations but also to boost morale. These gardens became extremely important, as gardeners could feel empowered by their contribution of labor and rewarded by the produce grown. This made victory gardens a part of daily life on the home front. This Spring, we will be planting a Victory Garden on premise and invite you to do the same at your home. We will be sending out tips and tricks all Spring and we are always available to answer any questions you may have.
