DEN and Colorado Air and Space Port Reach Notable Milestones this Month
Denver International Airport (DEN) recently announced service additions bringing the airport above 200 destinations around the globe for the first time in its history. Only three other U.S. airports serve at least 200 destinations. See more about the announcement.
Also last week, the Federal Aviation Administration granted a license allowing a spaceport at Front Range Airport, located just southeast of DEN. Receiving just the 11th such license in the country, Front Range Airport (which will be renamed Colorado Air and Space Port) will act as a hub connecting Colorado to other commercial aerospace and research opportunities around the world. Aerospace vehicles will make traditional takeoffs and landings at the facility, but have the capability to make suborbital flights. These flights could eventually create opportunities for space tourism and commercial transportation. Colorado already has the second largest aerospace industry in the nation, and Colorado Air and Space Port hopes to add to it. Learn more about Colorado Air and Space Port.
