Endeavor Elementary School Community Brief
Friday, January 29, 2021
Endeavor ES Community Member,

On January 25, 2020 we celebrated the 100th day of school for the 2020-2021 year. This mid-way point is the perfect time to reflect on our progress outlined in the school improvement plan. Endeavor outlined two goals for additional focus:

1. According to our school performance data, 47% of our identified lowest 25% students met their learning gains target. Comparatively, this school grade component area showed the greatest decline in overall performance from the previous year.

By specifically focusing on improving instructional practices relating to math, we will increase student performance of our lowest 25% students in the area of mathematics. This will be accomplished by improving teacher utilization of "backward designing" plus the effective use of instructional strategies specifically geared towards providing equitable learning opportunities for our most diverse learners.

2. To support the needs of our diverse learners and establish a culture of learning and collective staff efficacy, teachers & staff will organize as a Professional Learning Community (PLC). As a PLC, they will plan standards-based lessons, reflect on the effectiveness of instruction, and design and analyze common formative assessments as they relate to increased student achievement and a commitment to a culture of learning.

Working from the OCPS Strategic Plan, Endeavor Elementary continues to put practices in place that focus on the achievement of these two key goals.

Have a great weekend and thank you for looking over our progress and latest Navigator happenings!

Calendar Kids
High Expectations for Student Learning
Every year Orange County elementary, middle and high school students have the opportunity to participate in the Water Conservation Calendar presented by Orange County Utilities. The initiative is designed to educate students about the importance of water conservation. Students are challenged to create a picture depicting a water conservation theme or idea. There were over 4,250 submissions for the 2021 calendar and Endeavor artwork is featured twice!
Evelyn Resendiz (4th)
Congratulations to fourth grade student Evelyn Resendiz for her artwork which will be featured in the month of June. Her picture clearly depicts the relationship between water conservation and the planet.
Livan Andres Infante (5th)
Congratulations to fifth grade student Livan Andres Infante for his artwork which will be featured in the month of October. His theme of conservation directly connects water conservation in the home to the impacts it makes on natural bodies of water.

REMINDER: 2021 Parent Survey
Engaged and Invested Community
This survey is intended for parents & guardians to voice their input so that Endeavor can continue to be the best elementary in Orange County Public Schools! We would like all of our parents to invest a few minutes to share their views keeping in mind that we only run the survey 1X per year (link below).

The survey's individual responses are kept anonymous, but we do see the combined results. We use those to help with our school improvement efforts. Thank you for your help.
