The mission of Twisted Pink is to extend lives and improve quality of life for late stage breast cancer patients and their families by funding metastatic (stage IV) breast cancer research.

Last year in collaboration with Hope Scarves and The Cancer Couch we formed a research collective that raised $600,000 and with a 1:1 anonymous matching donor we were successful at placing 1.2 million dollars into research labs at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Dana-Farber Cancer Center at Harvard University.  More details on the research we fund can be found on our website by

News from Mrs. Sims
We started out this week practicing all of our safety drills for the year. The staff and students practiced procedures for fire, lockdown, tornado, earthquake, and evacuation. During the lock- down drill, three members of law enforcement joined us to assess and give us any pointers for improvement. They were complimentary about how quickly and quietly the staff and students responded to the drill, and they had some suggestions for us as to how to add to our current procedures.

Speaking of safety, please be sure to stay safe and be careful of others during morning and afternoon carpool. We have many students, staff members, and buses out there at the same time. Drive slowly and follow the rules for drop off and pick up. We must all work together to keep students safe. That means following directions, not speeding through the lot, pulling up to allow as many cars to get in the line as possible, and having your children ready to exit the car in the morning. If the back lot is too crowded, please drop off in the front of school. In the afternoons, do not try to avoid carpool by parking on the side of the building. Once again, it is about keeping our students safe, not about saving an extra 5 minutes. The procedures work when we all follow them.   Please do your part.

God Bless You and Your Family,
Wendy Sims
