Balloon Fiesta Insider
With less than six weeks until the 2019 Balloon Fiesta, we have some exciting, new updates!
- The Cottonwood and Intel Park & Ride routes will have new unloading and loading Areas at Balloon Fiesta Park. The new loading/unloading area will be near the corner of Balloon Museum Drive and Jefferson, just east of the Balloon Museum.
- Park & Ride check-in times will take place in two waves. For morning sessions, guest check-ins will take place at 4:00 and 5:30 a.m. For evening sessions, guest check-ins will take place at 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
- We will be increasing the signage in the ride share drop-off and pick up location, located at Alameda Boulevard and Horizon. We will also offer a courtesy shuttle to transport guests to the launch field.
- We have increased the amount of space for our Bike Valet program, so that more bikes can be parked. This program is free and allows guests a safe place to park their bikes while visiting Balloon Fiesta.

Leave your mark at Balloon Fiesta!
If you are a Balloon Fiesta fan who is interested in leaving your mark at Balloon Fiesta, our Buy-a-Brick program just might be for you! This program provides the opportunity to purchase and engrave a brick with your name, a special message or an image, to commemorate your involvement. This brick will then be added to our newly updated walkway, which features granite and steel "walls" that border the main east entrance to the park.

Inside the Basket
Allen Tetreault, Balloon Fiesta Director of Public Safety
As the Director of Public Safety for Balloon Fiesta, Allen Tetreault works to keep guests safe at the event. His duties range from being involved with the first aid clinic on the field, to coordinating with first responders.

On August 27, 1783, the first unmanned hydrogen balloon was launched by Professor Jacques Charles and the French brothers, Les Fréres Robert. The balloon, named Le Globe, took flight in Paris and traveled nearly 16 miles before landing in the village of Gonesse.

Founded in 1950, Dunkin' is an everyday stop for coffee and baked goods. Although a local Dunkin' store has had a presence at previous events, 2019 is the first year that Dunkin' will be the official coffee sponsor of Balloon Fiesta. This event provides Dunkin' with an opportunity to get involved with something that is a huge part of New Mexico's culture and community, as well as support and provide their coffee to those attending the event.
