Here's what's new on the Nobles County 4-H website this month!
State Fair project pick up

If you exhibited a General Project to the Minnesota State Fair, please plan on picking up your projects starting on September 10th. The projects will be organized, and re packaged for travel and available for pick up starting the week of September 10th.
All projects should be picked up by Thursday, September 13th! Office hours are: 8 AM-4:00 PM. If you are unsure, please call ahead!

Are all of your Ribbon Sale Pictures & Thank You's to the office? If not, please get them in ASAP or no later than Friday, September 3rd.

Adrian Back to School Night

Nobles County 4-H has been asked to be a part of the "Back to School" night at the Adrian High school on Friday, September 7th from 5-7 PM, can you help out?



September Cloverbud meeting

The next Cloverbud meeting takes place on Tuesday, September 11th from 6-7:15 PM. The meeting will be at the Worthington Regional Extension Office (1527 Prairie Drive, Worthington Mn) and our theme will revolve around an end or the year records party!  RSVP by September 6.

King Turkey Day's parade

Nobles County 4-H will be participating in the King Turkey Day Parade on Saturday, September 15th.  
 
The parade starts at 2 PM, if you are interested in joining Katie, please let her know ASAP! It'd be great to have a great representation of 4-Her's, Parents & Volunteers at this event!

2018 Post fair surveys

Please take time to provide input about the 2018 Nobles County Fair! This should be done by Friday, September 14th!

September Advisory Board & Federation meeting

The Advisory Board Meeting will take place on Monday, September 17th, 2018 at 6:00 PM. The September Federation Meeting will take place on Monday, September 17th, 2018 at 7:00 PM.
This is going to be a big meeting, as we have Officer Elections, looking at the Post Fair Survey Information, hear from the Elk Tip Toppers about the upcoming Achievement Banquet, and begin to look at budget items for end of the year charter information

National 4-H Week is October 7-13th, 2018. How can your clubs be promoting 4-H during this time?

The next Ambassador meeting is scheduled for Sunday, September 23rd at 6:00 PM at the Worthington Regional Extension Office. Click article title for more information!  RSVP Here 

Plan now to attend 4-H Annual Volunteer Training, "4-H Grows Relationships" on Sunday, October 21st at 6:00 PM at the Worthington Regional Extension Office! This event will be paired with our October Ambassador Meeting.
 
Were you able to go to the Minnesota State Fair with a project this year? If so, each person going to the State Fair needs to write 4 thank you's.  
 
Interim 4-H State Leader Jennifer A. Skuza reflects on her long history with 4-H and University of Minnesota Extension. She invites 4-H youth, families and volunteers to connect with her at the Minnesota State Fair.
 
If you're going to the state fair, don't forget to download the NEW 4-H at the Minnesota State Fair app! You'll be able to find everything 4-H at the fair, keep up with judging results and livestock show staging announcements, and much more.
 
Youth on state fair show committee - apply today to become a youth member on a state fair show committee. This is for youth in grades 9 through one year post high school. Apply by Sept. 15 for a position starting in early October.
 
Registration for Citizenship Washington Focus, a week-long trip to Washington, DC, will open in fall 2018 for the summer 2019 experience. Youth gain civic engagement skills while touring DC with youth from across the US! Complete a short survey to receive a reminder email when registration material is posted.
 
Volunteers give much to the Minnesota 4-H program! Consider nominating an outstanding volunteer for a 2019 4-H Salute to Excellence Award. All nomination materials are due by Sept. 15.
 
Fall 2018 SS&W leader certification training materials are now posted! Adults and youth (9th grade and older) are invited to attend this Sept. 29-30 training at the Gopher Campfire Conservation Club in Hutchinson. Be prepared for the new 4-H year with trained volunteers - register by Sept 12!
 
Powerful things happen for youth when they're in a positive relationship with caring adults. The 2018 annual volunteer training, "4-H Grows Relationships," will ready youth and adult volunteers to connect to young people in meaningful ways. Watch for dates and locations across the state this fall and plan to bring a team of youth and adult volunteers.
