Money Coach: Double the reach. Same impact.
We started the 2018/2019 school year with an ambitious goal: to double the reach of our Money Coach program. However, as an organization that has always been committed to measurable change, it was equally important to us that we maintain the same impact on student financial behaviors.

Our post-program data analysis is now complete, and we could not be happier with the results. After completing the program, 100% of students had a bank account, 93% were tracking their expenses, and 86% were using a budget. We haven't just maintained our outcomes - in some categories, they've actually improved. This speaks to the strength and sustainability of the Money Coach program, and especially to the skill, passion, and creativity of our Money Coach program managers, Stephaine Crosley and Chineva Smith.

This success is also because of you: our volunteers and supporters. Thank you for your commitment to the vital mission of empowering teens with financial capability!

We are thrilled to announce the election of the new chairperson of our Board of Directors, Rebecca Neumann. Rebecca has been a long-time champion of teen financial literacy, both in her ten years of involvement with SecureFutures and as an Associate Professor of Economics at UW-Milwaukee.

For the teens we serve, retirement seems so far away. How do we help them see the importance of starting now with retirement savings? Brenda answers this question in her latest blog post.
Thank you, volunteers!

Thank you to the over 50 volunteers who joined us last month at our event kicking off a new school year, and to the hundreds more of you who have signed on for another year of helping teens become money smart! Our programs would not be possible without you.

It's not too late to get involved for the 2018/2019 school year! A webinar for new volunteers will take place on November 6th. To sign up as a new volunteer, visit our website, or for more info contact Program Manager Patrick Armstrong at patrick@securefutures.org.

If you're already a volunteer, make sure to visit our Current Volunteer Opportunities page to find out how you can make an impact this year!
