Call for Volunteers
Every year more than 1,000 dedicated, engaged, community-minded and fun volunteers contribute to make the Cherry Creek Arts Festival possible. Volunteering at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival gives participants an exclusive, behind-the-scenes appreciation of the artists and art that make the Festival so enticing and fun.
Volunteers are the backbone of the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. The Cherry Creek Arts Festival volunteer program, presented by Xfinity, attracts volunteers who are dedicated to the arts, the community and look forward to having a great 4th of July weekend while working and enjoying the Festival.

In Remembrance of
Millicent "Millie" McAndries Grant
Celebrating the life of Millicent Grant...We would like to take a moment to honor Millie who recently died peacefully at the age of 85. Millie was a volunteer at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival for over 20 years. Millie was known for her engaging smile, and was helpful to anyone in need. She was a good listener of everyone and had a heart for serving others. Our deepest condolences to Millie’s family and friends.

We are honored to have Christopher Wagner back for a 2nd year at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. Wagner is returning after being awarded with a 2017 Juror's award. To talk with this artist and
see more of his work
, visit his booth #243 throughout the festival weekend. In Christopher's words:
"My art revolves around the human figure, often stylized, but always holding onto the essence of the human form. The liberties I take with the figure are intended to emphasize the spiritual or intellectual longings of humans. This can be seen in the elongation of limbs or the extending of necks meant to show a yearning to extend beyond ourselves. The gestures, though borrowed from many religious traditions, are used in order to create a sense of longing and contemplation in my viewers. Even the basic solitary presentation of each figure is more reminiscent of an icon than portraiture.
My spiritual and emotional connection with my art can be extended beyond imagery and subject matter, to the very material that I use. All my work is carved in wood, specifically reclaimed lumber. The sense of history that this material brings before my hands is much greater than anything I could hope to achieve through artificial means. In the studio, carving my figures is much less about me forcing my vision on the material, as it is a dialogue with the wood itself. Elements of the woods’ own history such as, nail holes, checking, and insect burrowing go into forming what I am sculpting. Rarely, do the sculptures I carve come out as the initial sketch planned, but instead I feel that wood has a spark of the divine in it, which works alongside my vision."
