LAST ISPTSA MEETING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR!  

ISPTSA General Membership Meeting
Thursday, June 13, 6:00–6:30 PM

Yes, it's the same evening as Senior Project Open House! Please join us half-an-hour before the open house for the last General Membership Meeting. We plan to approve next year's budget, to vote in next year's ISPTSA board members ( click here to see next year's board member nominations ), and honor Golden Acorn winner and senior parent volunteers. We'll have treats and coffee/tea before you go to the open house.

For many senior parents, this is their last year at IS and many have served on PTSA boards, supported school events, been mentors in clubs or school events. These are the people that deserve to be recognized too-- if you think of senior parents that fill this role, please send an email to [email protected] with their names.
WELCOME CLASS 2026!

Last Thursday the PTSA sponsored a successful 5th-Grade BBQ to welcome Class of 2026! The Welcome Folder and presentations can be found here .

SCHOOL NEWS
HIGH SCHOOL RETREAT FORMS ARE DUE NOW !

Yearbooks will not be passed out to students whose forms have not been turned in. Don't let that happen to your student! For more information and link to forms, click here .
MOVING UP DANCE FOR 8TH GRADERS

This Friday, June 7, 8:00–10:30 PM

The Moving Up Dance is coming up! It is hosted by the 9th Grade ASB Class Officers, and its theme this year is Tropical—so students should dress to the theme! Tickets will be sold as we get closer to the date. We will let students know when they can buy tickets during the Morning Announcement.
 
Current 8th-grade students are invited to attend this high school dance to get a taste of future dances to come. Students who attend this year’s Moving Up Dance will also be able to receive their yearbooks during this time—before anyone else! Please make sure that your student's High School Retreat Form has been turned in so that the yearbook can be picked up! (See article above for info and links.)

Parent/guardian chaperones are needed for this dance! If you are interested in chaperoning for our last dance of the year, please email Arty Christianto,  [email protected] . Thank you!
A MESSAGE FOR SENIOR PARENTS

Senior parents are invited to attend the awards assembly on Wednesday, June 5, at 12:30 PM. There will be bleacher seating just inside the gym doors. Due to limited seating, only senior parents are invited .
AUDITIONS FOR HS JAZZ BAND

Tuesday, June 11 after school in the band room

If your student is interested in trying out to be a new member of the jazz band next year, check with Andy in the band room for an audition time and audition music. The High School Jazz Band is a select group that performs at competitions and jazz festivals throughout the school year. Auditions are required . LAST DAY OF SCHOOL SCHEDULE

Friday, June 21

The school day will be 8:15 AM to 10:15 AM. The yellow busses will leave International at approximately 10:45 AM and the Metro bus 889 will leave International at 10:33 AM. 

The school is planning on turning the last day of school into something awesome! Want to help? Ask your student to attend an interest meeting in Room 200 on Tuesday, June 4. Meetings will be during lunch and tutorial.

2019 HIGH SCHOOL RETREAT SEPTEMBER 5
 
The High School Retreat will explore forms of Asian cultural expression and examine challenges facing Asian societies. Our 2019-20 French Intern, Pauline Oliveira-Machado is extremely excited to be a part of our fabulous IS community. She is particularly interested in teaching the traditional songs, dance, and cuisine of France. STUDENT SPORTS & OPPORTUNITIES
INTERESTED IN CPR/AED CERTIFICATION?

International School’s Red Cross Club is hosting its first annual CPR/AED training event for parents, teachers, and all students grades 6-12 on Monday, June 10 and Friday, June 14 from 3:20–5:45 PM . ULTIMATE FRISBEE

The Boys High School Ultimate Frisbee Team is recruiting for the Fall 2019 season. For more information, contact  [email protected]  or go to  bellevueultimate.org .
