Trails still open for boots, bikes & paws!
Members and Day Pass holders are welcome to continue to explore all of our trails on foot, bike or paws! Once the snow flies, we ask that bikes (non fat!), pedestrians and pets find alternate trail venues in the region for the remainder of the winter season. Once trails are groomed we do allow pets with skiers on certain trails.

Upcoming Events Calendar
Bookmark this page to keep tabs on what is happening at your club - be it recreational programs or volunteer opportunities. Club hosted events are tagged in blue while provincial nordic events will be highlighted in other colours. Once the snow flies we will add in our other programs such as Jackrabbits, Chicks on Sticks etc.
Coming soon - Chicks on Sticks!
Want to get out XC skiing more during the week but don't want to venture out in the dark on your own? Then our ladies program Chicks on Sticks (or the men's equivalent Tanks on Planks) is for you! Ladies not already on the Chicks emailing list can register here to be kept in the loop once the snow begins to fly!
Jackrabbits: seeking leaders for 2020 season
The Jackrabbits Program is in need of leaders/instructors for the upcoming season, January through March 2020. WNSC will be bringing instructors from Edmonton to provide training for those interested. In addition to helping the Jackrabbit program succeed, and spending family time on the snow, taking the training is a good opportunity to improve your own XC skills. Please contact Teresa if you are interested or for more info!
Don't Get Lost in the Woods
This year's Don't Get Lost in the Woods was another great success! Over 150 runners hit the Wapiti Nordic trails on Sunday, Sept 15th, covering 3km, 5km, 10km or 21km. Results and event photos were posted on the DGLW Facebook page. Thanks to everyone who registered, sponsored and volunteered at this event - all proceeds to programs at our club!
Summer Bridge Building
No...., unfortunately not the much anticipated twinning of the Hwy 40 bridge, but our volunteer Trail Director, Matt Wild and his crew of hardy helpers, were instrumental in the creation of some super cool new crossings on the single track mountain bike trails this summer. Kudos to our mountain bike enthusiasts for their continued commitment to improving our trails and biking experiences!
Casino Fundraiser - Volunteers Needed!
This is the Club's largest fundraising opportunity and usually comes around only once every three years. Casino funds are vital for subsidizing your Wapiti Nordic membership fees. We are seeking volunteers to help out on Jan 1st and Jan 2nd 2020 here in Grande Prairie - no experience necessary. Email for info.
