A brief introduction to entrepreneurship and the creation and development of new business ventures. Includes a high level overview of the critical success factors for entrepreneurs, including business structures, the development of the business plan, and permits and licensing procedures.
Thursday, November 7th, 9:00am
Contrary to what you might have heard, there are not a lot of grants available for small businesses from the US government. But, if you have an innovative product idea, or if you think your unique product or service might be of interest to the federal government, there may be a grant available to help bring your idea to the market.
Topics:  How federal grants work;  How to avoid scams;  An overview of grants.gov; and  An overview of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program.
Thursday, November 7th, 5:30pm
This workshop will better equip you to manage your business financials by learning how to i nterpret financial statements. This will allow you to better manage and understand your operations, cash flow, and profitability. Topics also include: learning how to identify your cash flow cycle and how it impacts your business; and develop forecasts and budget techniques to improve profits.
Thursday, November 14th, 5:30pm - Saturday, November 16th, 3:00pm
Join us for  one or all of the following sessions where you will learn the basics of using the online version of QuickBooks. From setting up your account for the first time to learning how to run reports.
