New Youth Protection Training Due 10/1/2018

Don't forget, all adults must renew their Youth Protection Training by October 1, 2018 regardless of when they last took the training.  No adult can be a member of the BSA without the new YPT 2 training.  No existing member can be rechartered without YPT 2 and no Pack, Troop, Crew, or other Scouting Unit will be able to charter or recharter unless every adult member has completed YPT 2.

The training can be completed in a little over an hour. If you use the recommended browser, turn off any pop-up blocker and follow the instructions in the Cheat Sheet below

To complete the required training logon to your my.scouting.org account and go to the YPT Training page. The "Cheat Sheet" to help you through the steps to complete the training can be downloaded here.

By October 1, 2018, all new and currently registered leaders will be required to complete the updated training. The enhanced and updated content will allow leaders and councils to comply with all current legal requirements. While this may be inconvenient for some, it reflects the BSA's commitment to the safety of all youth.

One-Day Golf Merit Badge Clinics

Harvey Scribner from Troop 182 is running several One-Day Golf Merit Badge Clinics this summer, including at least one in August.  The cost is $35, which includes driving range/greens fees.  There is a 1-2 hour death by PowerPoint, then practice at a local driving range in Conshohocken.  Then we head to Mermaid Lakes in Blue Bell for two 9-hole rounds.  Water is provided from a cooler.  Harvey, along with other parents, provide transportation.  Should be fun for all age and abilities.  Harvey could use additional Leader support, particularly if the groups get large or encompass entire troops.  He has 4-5 extra sets of clubs for scouts who don't have clubs.

For more information on dates and to make a reservation, please contact Harvey Scribner directly at   [email protected].

Happy Summer Scouters!
Now is the time to start planning ahead for Merit Badge College 2019. The date is still to be determined but you have to do your part NOW!
  • Email Laurie Little at [email protected] to declare your interest in teaching a merit badge.
  • Recruit other scouters, parents, neighbors, coworkers to be counselors, too!
  • Start looking over the requirements that you'll want the boys to have done before they come out for the day.
  • Take your YPT 2 training, so that you are not dropped as a counselor.
ยท         Ask your scouts what badges they want to take and let Laurie know early.
First Aid Meet Rescheduled

The annual first aid meet had to be cancelled due to the weather in March, but Troop 105 has been able to secure the PV Middle School West for September 15, 2018.  Please plan on attending this very worth while event.  Registration is on the troop web site at www.troop105pa.org.  Anyone who registered last time will have to re-register and issue a new payment, all prior payments by check have been destroyed.
