Spring sports are into section play and playoffs, and there's still time to catch some great action at CLHS. Lakeside staff is packing and getting ready to move - check out the video and pictures in the article below about the history of Lakeside. Graduation will be held on Monday night (6/3). If you can't make it for graduation, you can live stream it. Don't forget to check out all the summer activities available through Community Ed. - Wildcat Community Center opens soon!

Video Tribute to Lakeside  by Josh Campbell

S1 E25 "Lakeside" - The Campbells'

There have been all kinds of "lasts" this year at Lakeside, including the 5th grade teacher's sendoff and the annual all-school picture. As staff work to pack up Lakeside Elementary in preparation for the big move, students took the opportunity to write some "goodbye" messages:

 Apprenticeship Signings at CLHS

The Work Based Learning Program at CLHS allows students to partner with local industry to gain some hands-on experience.

The first company is Everwood Industries and the student is Luke Danielowski. Pictured from left to right, Marcia, AJ, Luke Danielowski, and Dave Ertl. Luke has been given a great behind the scenes look at what it really takes to work in the manufacturing industry. They have allowed Luke to really jump in and run machines and be part of the team.

The second company is WDI and the student is Dylan Tashjian. Pictured from left to right, Dave Ertl, Dylan Tashjian, Nick Kohler, and Curt Cohoes. This has been an amazing partnership and has opened the door for many other students.

The Work Based Learning Program is growing for next year. We have 23 students placed to work in the summer and 35 students signed up for the class next year!
Ceramics Students and the Potters Guild

Elementary students created one-of-kind masterpieces for parents to display.

Did you know that students across the district get the opportunity to create all sorts of ceramic projects? Thanks in large part to the support of the local Potters Guild, students at Chisago Lakes have many chances to create and learn. Recently, the advanced ceramic students took a pottery tour field trip to get some inspiration. Here's a couple of their projects:

At the middle school, local potter Richard Vincent worked on the middle school kiln shelves - grinding off old glaze and kiln wash and reapplying kiln wash. CLMS  students also created some pretty impressive projects.

At the elementary level, the Potters Guild has given two generous donations that will provide clay, glaze, various fun clay tools, and a few items to outfit the kiln room at the new Lakeside building for the upcoming school year.  "The elementary art program is incredibly grateful to the Potters Guild for these opportunities," said elementary art teacher Amy Luger. Support from the community makes these programs possible.
