Abut the Speaker: Dr. Green earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison . He earned his A.B . in economics from Harvard University . His research addresses housing markets, housing policy, tax policy, transportation, mortgage finance and urban growth. He is a member of two academic journal editorial boards, and a reviewer for several others.

His book with Stephen Malpezzi, A Primer on U.S. Housing Markets and Housing Policy, is used at universities throughout the country. His work has been cited or he has been quoted in the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, the Christian Science Monitor, the Los Angeles Times, Newsweek and the Economist, as well as other outlets .

ADVOCACY IN ACTION
BIA-LAV Testifies at Culver City: Voluntary, Incentive-Based Affordable Housing
On Monday, BIA-LAV testified at the Culver City Council meeting on the Mixed Use Affordable Housing Ordinance. BIA testified on the importance to ensure that this Ordinance remain a voluntary, incentive-based effort. The Ordinance uses density incentives to encourage affordable housing development. BIA will be inviting staff to our March LA County Committee meeting. Learn more here.
Lancaster Fee Update Meeting
This week the City of Lancaster met with BIA on their impact fees and re-structured statewide community infrastructure (SCIP) program. BIA-LAV LA City Committee
This year’s first LA City Committee meeting centered around guest speakers from City, Planning, Kevin Keller and Lisa Webber, they discussed the comprehensive fee update and provided updates to the City's housing stats and review processes. The fee update will be considered at the Planning & Land Use Management Committee on February 4, and may be continued until the next meeting.
