When country-raised Kentuckian Wes marries animal-loving Elisa (a town-raised Floridian), the fun begins. Inspired by Kentucky writer Wendell Berry, these Berrys attempt to raise much of their own meat and vegetables. The learning process has brought successes and a series of humorous and unfortunate events. In this presentation, Wes and Elisa share their philosophy of eating animals raised in healthy conditions and slaughtered at home as humanely as possible, along with a slide show of their homesteading (mis)adventures.
