Dear families,
Happy August! I hope this e-blast finds your family doing well. It is hard to believe we are in August and in a few weeks the kids will be going back to school. I would like to thank everyone who has participated and helped with our summer programs this year. VBS, Outreach Wednesdays, and Art Camp would not have been possible without your support.
We continue to be on the summer schedule on Sundays. This means that there is no Sunday School, FaithSteps, or Children's Church. Children's Church will start back August 26 and Sunday School and FaithSteps will start back September 9. We will continue to provide nursery for infants and toddlers through rising 4K. Rising 5K through 6th graders are invited to join their families in either the 10:30 AM chapel or church service. Please be sure to join us on August 26 in the historic church for the combined 10:30 AM service we will bless all student's bags. Everyone will receive a tag for their backpack. Children's Church will resume that morning.
Transitions can be hard for children and even adults. As we near the end of summer break here is a prayer for you to say as a family or for you to say for your children:
Dear God, I pray for your strength today as I step into the world. Give me your eyes, so I can see all that there is to see. Give me your ears, so that I listen intently for every morsel of instruction. Give me your heart, so that I learn to be more compassionate. Thank you for your grace and mercy which you hand out freely every day. Lord, wrap your loving arms around those who need it most today, and give them your peace. In your name I pray. Amen.

School Supply Stockpile: August 5-19
While purchasing school supplies for your children please pick up additional items for the children of the Sterling Community. Drop off your donations in the marked bins on the 1st and 2nd floor lobbies of the Parish House. Check out the list of items online.
Baptism: August 12
Baptism will be held during the 10:30 AM service in the historic church. If you have a child you would like to be baptized please contact Leslie Provence, 672.4150.
Caring for our Church: Saturday, August 25, 8:30 - 11:30 AM
Come serve our parish by caring for the church buildings and grounds and making our campus a more welcoming place for all! There are many activities children can help with. You can register online or contact Lei Offerle, 672.4142.
