GENERAL
FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH
Curbside pickup of a free breakfast and lunch is available 7:30 am to 1:00 pm Monday through Friday. Come to the Gate 3 entrance before Basswood where the line forms outside the gym. This program is open to any student 18 and under and recipients do not need to be enrolled in PVPUSD. No pre-order required. All meals include an entrée, choice of milk and seasonal fruit and vegetables. Menus are at pvpusdschoolnutrition.net.
 
CARD DRIVE EXTENDED
Second chance to lift someone's spirit! So many students wanted to make and donate handmade cards or fill out premade cards for local hospital healthcare workers and patients, but missed the deadline, the card drive is extended to this Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 3:30 pm. You may fill them with a note of thanks for the workers and/or "thinking of you" message for patients. Sponsored by Service Learning Leadership, the drop boxes have returned in front of the gym turnaround for you to leave your cards. Email [email protected] with questions.
 
LOS ANGELES MISSION DRIVE
Peninsula is holding a drive to help the Los Angeles Mission. They need donations of non-perishable food such as canned meats, coffee, drinks and more as well as personal care items (deodorant, hand sanitizer, etc), and clothing such as socks and pajamas. Email Mrs. Sunada at [email protected] for the complete list of requested items. Boxes will be outside the gym from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm on school days.
 
FORBIDDEN BROADWAY
Peninsula Drama is having its first ever virtual musical, Forbidden Broadway. If you want to be a part of this, audition videos and stage crew applications are due TOMORROW, Feb. 23. All the cast and crew information is available at peninsuladrama.com or email Mr. Cohen at [email protected]. Get involved and have fun!
 
SING OUT
Always wanted to sing, but terrified to audition? Here's your chance-due to the pandemic, all students are welcome to sign up for choir without an audition. You may sign up for Chamber Choir, Women's Treble Choir, or Chamber/Jazz Chorale and Mr. Doctor will work with you to secure your spot. Email him at [email protected] with questions.
 
TEENS TEACH TECHNOLOGY
Help teach seniors the basics of social media, daily applications and internet safety through Teens Teach Technology, California chapter. There are opportunities to give back to the community as well as strengthening your public speaking skills through online appointments with libraries and nursing homes. BOEING SUMMER INTERNSHIP
There will be virtual information sessions this year on March 1st, 9th, 17th, and 25th all at 6:00 pm to let students and parents know about the Boeing Summer Internship program which runs June 21 to August 5. Contact Mr. Twiet at [email protected] for additional material and any questions.
 
A.S.B. APPLICATIONS
If you are interested in taking on a leadership role at Pen, consider applying for ASB. The class meets daily during fourth period and plans school-wide events. The application and timeline are at pvphs.pvpusd.net under Panther Picks or click here.
Applications for an elected position are due Tuesday, Mar. 2 and applications for appointed positions are due Wed., Mar. 17.
 
JAMAICAN FISH FRITTERS
Learn how to bring a taste of the Caribbean to your table at the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee's cooking class on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 11:00 am. Taught by a Panther family, you'll learn the secrets of making Jamaican fish fritters.

P.E.F. DRAWINGS
Support the Peninsula Education Foundation with a donation of $1,500 or more and you will be entered into monthly drawings for a prize. February's prize is dinner for two at Arthur J in Manhattan Beach and a bottle of Dom Perignon. Go to pvpef.org to donate.

COLLEGE ESSENTIALS TOOLKIT SERIES
California Public College Options is the topic when the Toolkit series resumes February 25 at 6:30 pm online. Learn the differences between the California public colleges which include the UC, Cal State and community college systems and more. Financial aid and cost to attend will also be discussed.
