Volume 2, Issue 1
We are pleased to provide you with a special back-to-school edition of the St. Pius X weekly e-newsletter, eSpiritus. The newsletter, which is sent every Monday during the school year, includes information about happenings at St. Pius X.

It is important that you take the time to read through the "IN THIS ISSUE" section, which can be found at left, of each edition carefully. There is a lot of important and helpful information for parents in eSpiritus, and by looking through the heading topics, you  may determine which items are of interest to you.

You can also click here to view archived e-newsletters throughout the 2018-19 school year.
This Week
Important Carpool  & Back-to-School Information
St. Pius X does not have a carpool pick up system like you might have experienced at your grade school.  Parents and students are on their own to meet up for pick up in the afternoon once school has dismissed. Please be clear with your student what time you'll come for him/her and where you plan to meet; students like to socialize instead of move to their cars which means gridlock for everyone.

St. Pius X is a ONE-WAY campus with only one entrance on Johnson Road and two exits leading back onto Johnson Road, and 1 exit leading to Plaster Road (via the "senior parking lot").

Please click here for more important carpool, and back-to-school FAQs.
Freshman Orientation August 3
On Friday, August 3, 2018, we will have an orientation for freshmen students only beginning at 8 a.m. and dismissing at 12 noon.   All freshmen students are requested to report in full uniform, and bring their laptop to the Young Center Auditorium no later than 7:55 a.m.
Student Physicals Needed
All incoming freshman as well as all students entering St. Pius X for the first time need to have a physical on file BEFORE the first day of school.

Physicals must be dated after April 1, 2018 and completed on the five-page 2018-19 physical form which can be found here. Once completed you may email  the completed forms to Melinda Martin at  [email protected] , mail them to the school (Attention: Melinda Martin) or drop them off in the front office.
SAT Prep Class Registration Open
SAT Prep is a class offered outside of the regular school day for juniors and seniors who want extra preparation for the SAT tests. Classes are offered August 11, 18 and 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  For more information and to register, please click here.
Log-in Information for Family Email and Powerschool
In an effort to simplify your access to the three main systems St. Pius X uses to convey information about your student(s), your login for each system has been combined into one set of credentials for your household.

A letter was sent home to each family on July 11, 2018, which included the new username/password combo for each family. This username and password replaces all others you are using for your SPX Family Email, PowerSchool Parent Portal, and PS Learning accounts. These credentials went into effect Thursday, July 12.

Totes2Tots Collection Begins Tomorrow
Help St. Pius X support  Totes  2  Tots! Last year, St. Pius X and OLA School donated over 200 backpacks, luggage, and small  totes. Let's break that record!

An estimated 8,500 children from infants to teenagers are in the foster care system in Georgia. Many of these kids shuffle their belongings in garbage bags. Let's help them feel good about themselves. Before you throw out that old backpack, consider donating it to this wonderful program. St. Pius X Catholic High School and the Alumni Office will be collecting new and slightly used backpacks and small suitcases. Donations can be made by dropping off the bags at the front office or the Donnellan Center (Advancement Office) beginning Tuesday, July 31. The drive takes place in January, but we're starting early so clean out those closets!
