Brown Street Closure - 6/8/18
The Old Woodward Ave. Reconstruction Project continues to make solid progress, with above ground concrete paving work accelerating this week. Efforts are also being made to get
eastbound Maple Rd. open to traffic again within the next 10 days, as has been planned.  In the meantime, there is critical work that is required to be done now at
Brown Street so progress is not impeded on the south end of the project.

On Friday, June 8, starting at 7 a.m., eastbound Brown St. will be CLOSED to all traffic for an eight to 10 hour period to allow for the completion of needed water system improvements in that area.  During this temporary closure planned for June 8, eastbound through Maple Rd. traffic is asked to turn LEFT at Chester St.  Doing so will allow drivers to use the Willits St. bypass and head east through downtown to Woodward Ave.  Drivers who choose to turn right will be asked to turn right on Pierce St., and proceed south to Lincoln Ave., which is a secondary, longer way to get to Woodward Ave.

Once this critical work is finished, Brown St. will be opened again for eastbound traffic.

The City thanks you for your cooperation, patience and understanding as it works to complete this necessary work on Brown St. as fast as possible.
