Kleberg Bank makes donation to establish Bloomberg Lab
Make it easier for students to get real-world practice                 

Kleberg Bank has made it easier for business students at Texas A&M University-Kingsville to get real-world practice, thanks to a $75,000 donation to develop a Bloomberg Financial Lab in the College of Business Administration.

"Kleberg Bank believes that supporting our local education efforts is key to helping shape a vibrant and sustainable community and proudly supports Texas A&M-Kingsville and the College of Business Administration's plans to establish a Bloomberg Financial Lab," said Brad Womack, Kingsville Market President. 

"Once completed, the university will be able to leverage this valuable resource - the same industry-leading data and technology used by the world's leading banks, corporations and government agencies - along with the College of Business Administration's recent accreditation, to attract the very best students to the university," he added.

2018 Business Leadership Camp Hosts 40 Students   
Largest turnout for the 4th Annual Leadership Camp  

Texas A&M University- Kingsville College of Business Administration hosted its fourth annual Business Leadership Camp on Friday, June 1.  Students ranging in ages 11-13 from Kingsville and Falfurrias attended sessions hosted by business faculty ranging from Leadership 101, Personal Finance, Cybersecurity to Networking and Communication.  Students were given a special campus tour by University Recruiter, Adrian Garcia and a concluding session covering College in Your Future Plans was presented by Senior Academic Advisor, Cynthia Longoria.   
 
Students were presented with gifts courtesy of the University Office of Admissions, Office of Student Activities and College of Business Administration.  Thanks to all who participated and donated their time in making this year's camp a great success!

College Introduces A New Study Abroad Program    
City of Lights acquaints students with luxury business perspective       
      
Business students participated in a study abroad program led by Dr. Ruth Chatelain-Jardon, Associate Professor of Marketing focusing on "Luxury Product Management" in Paris earlier this month. A collaboration between Texas A&M-Kingsville College of Business and the IBC Business School Paris.  Students learned about entrepreneurship, luxury hospitality services and engaged in trend forecasting in couture fashion industry, perfume and cosmetics.  Students are pictured visiting the Sabe Masson perfume boutique, one of their many experiential learning opportunities while visiting The City of Lights.

Faculty Honored by Professional Organization at 2018 Annual Meeting   
Assistant Professor Wins Award for Contributions to Accounting Profession       
  
      
Dr. Anne-Marie Lelkes, Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting and Finance has been recognized by the Corpus Christi Chapter Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (CCTSCPA) as recipient of the 2017-2018 Young CPA of the Year.  Bestowed on a CPA who is a member of TSCPA and a local chapter. The individual, 39 years or under, has made significant contributions to the accounting profession and the community and is a member of at least one other professional organization.  Congratulations to Dr. Lelkes!
