Happy Holidays!
We want to wish everyone a joyous holiday season and a Happy New Year!
Remembering Our Past So We Can Build a Strong Future
Help Revitalize Our Community & Please Give this Holiday Season
This is a 1924 photo of the Davison Furniture building. The building was lost during a 2007 fire. DSI purchased the lots where it once stood.
This is a conceptual drawing of CEBA that will be located on the Main Street site where Davison Furniture once stood.
We need your help this giving season. Our history is strong and our future is even stronger. Let's aim high and make great things happen together.

It’s been a challenging year for everyone. We missed seeing you at our annual Heritage Day and Kielbasa Festival. Just like many nonprofits, due to COVID-19 restrictions, we had to cancel our major fundraising events that bring us together and celebrate our community. But, we continue to look into the future.

One exciting project that will have a major positive impact on our region is The Center for Education, Business and Arts (CEBA). CEBA will be an innovation center where entrepreneurs and community members can acquire affordable education, business space, and resources they need to start and grow their business

CEBA was created through multiple focus groups and personal interviews with the community to ensure the center will meet everyone’s needs. CEBA will include a culinary kitchen, conference/event center with a catering kitchen, a classroom for higher education, and more.

We are so close to making this community center a reality and you can help! Be part of the amazing building that will bring our community together and help make our business districts thrive once again!

CEBA’s collaborative environment will enable individuals to grow their business ideas to a point where they can open their own storefronts, helping to revitalize the communities, fill empty storefronts, and create new jobs.

CEBA will also generate visibility within Shenandoah attracting prospective patrons, artists, businesses, and visitors to stimulate local and regional economic development.

CEBA is a community-wide effort and we need your financial support! Be a part of history and donate today.

Every dollar counts! Your dollar counts! ! Learn more and donate today @ DiscoverCeba.com
We want to thank all the community members who have donated to CEBA to date. Join us in making CEBA a reality! Let's add your name to this growing list! Every dollar counts...your dollar counts!

Santa's Came To Town and Kicked Off The Holidays In Style
On a crisp November afternoon, Santa heated things up and visited Shenandoah! The jolly old elf waived at onlookers while riding on an antique fire truck that only comes out on very special occasions! Families lined Main Street and Shenandoah neighborhoods as Santa, escorted by fire trucks and police cars paraded through town.

"We want to thank Mrs. T's, Santa Claus, our local first responders and all the members of the community for making this event happen, "said Mary Luscavage, Executive Director of DSI. "Have a wonderful holiday!"

Business Spotlight:
Mark's Supply: Serving Schuylkill County for 65 Years and Counting
“We believe in Shenandoah and want to beautify the town. We know we can’t go back in time, but we can use our history to move forward to a brighter future,”

Joe Anczarski Sr. & Joe Anczarski Jr.
65 years and counting. That’s how long Mark’s Supply has served Shenandoah and the entire Schuylkill County area. Mark’s Supply Co. located at 230 South Main Street is more than just a plumbing and heating supply store. Mark’s is a family-owned business that has strong roots in our community. Mark’s opened its doors back in 1955 by Joseph E. Anczarski and Edward Markowski. Now, Joseph E.’s sons, John J. and Joseph J. ”Joe Sr.” along with his son Joseph P. “Joe Jr.” are carrying on the family tradition. “We are here to help customers in any way we can,” said Joe Jr. with a genuine smile.

They describe themselves as a small business that services Schuylkill County and beyond. Their specialty is supplying parts for older and difficult to find plumbing and heating equipment like antique coal stoves, antique radiators, faucets, as well as custom made parts. Right outside their store’s entrance, you’ll see a beautiful collection of antique radiators.

“I’m just here to help do anything I can for our customers,” explained Joe Sr. and Joe Jr. agreed. He is happy to follow in his father’s footsteps. “I’m working with Dad to learn how to run a business,” he said.

Both father and son are passionate about revitalizing the community. “We believe in Shenandoah and want to beautify the town. We know we can’t go back in time, but we can use our history to move forward to a brighter future,” they explained.

Joe Sr. serves on the DSI Board of Directors and is Chairman of the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Shenandoah. Joe Jr. serves on the Board of Directors for DSI and the Schuylkill County Conservancy. They both are advocates for The Center for Education, Business and The Arts (CEBA) that will be located on the site of the former Davison Furniture Store. “CEBA will transform our area, “said Joe Sr. It will offer the tools and resources people need which will strengthen our entire community.”
