NEWS AND EVENTS
Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are excited for our Blue Cohort to attend in-person instruction beginning on Monday, February 22. Please remember to make your testing appointments the week before your son is to return to campus. The expectation is that all students be tested before in-person learning and athletic conditioning. Students who are in distance or in person experiencing symptoms or who test positive should share this information with Serra. Please share results with [email protected].  Our goal is to support the health and safety of our faculty, staff, students and families.

We recommend that you go through your provider, or you can test at the various locations in San Mateo County.
See links below:

In addition, Serra is currently working with a testing company to provide onsite testing for faculty, staff, students and their families in the future. We will be sending more information regarding on-site testing in the upcoming week, when the plans have been confirmed.

SAT:
Parents of current 11th graders who want their son to take the April 13 SAT on Serra’s campus will need to sign up through the Google Form sent from Mr. Strange last week. The deadline for signups is this Friday, February 19. Any questions should be directed to your son’s counselor.

Late Work Policy:
Serra’s late work policy states that work assigned by teachers is meant to support student learning. Work that is not turned in within a reasonable time after it is taken out of its original context and thus does not support learning in the way it was intended. As a result, students will not receive credit for missing or unsubmitted assignments that were due in a previous grading period or unit (as defined by the teacher). Exceptions and reasonable adjustments will be appropriate when a student is absent during the final week of a grading period. In all cases, it is the student’s responsibility to stay in communication with their teachers regarding the status of missing assignments.

Scheduling:
Online scheduling for the 2021-2022 school year is now open. Parents of current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors should login to the PCR Parent Portal to complete the Course Selection Report Form which will include courses for which your son has previously been approved as well as elective options. Freshmen parents will be guided by their son’s counselor. The completed form must be emailed to your son’s counselor by March 3. Some courses are restricted to a first-come, first-served basis.
