Don, Addison & Josh
|
On Fathers Day, Don & Josh left the clubhouse and went out onto the Blue course at Silver Willow. A rare occasion! They wanted to get in some practice for the up- coming Kamloops shoot, which they both entered. Without a doubt, they made us all proud. Don came in second at the Master's, with a score of 269/300, which placed in the top 3rd out of 90 shooters.
Josh came in third in the AA division, with a score of 260/300.
Addison (Josh's oldest daughter), went along with Papa and Dad for the ride, and to keep our champions company. Kamloops club hosted a fantastic event. Congratulations to both of you!! |

George, Don, Josh & Kurtis |
Silver Willow joined in the fun this year at the annual Carstairs Beef and Barley Days parade. Josh and his baby son Jameson had great fun launching the custom designed "soft" Clays from the float. Staff members George and Kurtis along with family members Jena, Addison and McKinnley, were tossing out candies to the anxiously awaiting, cheering children on the streets of Carstairs. The weather was perfect for a day of celebrating!!

Sharing the Journey
I've been a member at Silver Willow for a couple of years now. I was hooked at a corporate shoot, and apparently, the Day family have not heard of barbless hooks because I can't shake this one. I started with a 25 year old 870 Express that had been abused for decades in a wet scabbard on back country patrols. I hope that says something about what can work for this game. My (patrol) partner still shoots an 870 and holds his own well thank you. I'll talk more in future submissions about equipment - but it doesn't take much to get started.

Summer Time Guiding Expreinces |
On July 19th we had a group from Florida, who were visiting Canada for the very first time. They had to make a stop at Silver Willow, to give Sporting Clay's a try. They went out on the Green course with Rick Choppe, and had an extremely good time and could not believe how much fun this sport really is!!!
