Volunteers in the community truly make a difference especially those who volunteer on a consistent basis for people who really need the help. Shelly Kurland is one such volunteer who helps children and families as a volunteer / ambassador for the Ronald McDonald House located in Jacksonville, Florida. 

As noted on the Ronald McDonald House website, "A Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families to call home so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little to no cost. Our Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child - not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest."

Shelly first volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House years ago and enjoyed it so much that she set out a goal of volunteering on a more regular basis in the future.  Since graduating from Rollins College in the Spring of 2017, Shelly has volunteered over 500 (five hundred) hours in answering phones, staffing events, and otherwise helping children and families who receive the services provided by the Ronald McDonald House. 

Over the past year, she also prepared for and took the LSAT exam and worked as a legal assistant at a law firm.  Her test scores and college grades earned her a number of law school scholarship offers. Certainly, Shelly has both the intellect and heart to be a great attorney one day.  She plans on attending law school in the Spring or Fall of 2019.  Until then, she will continue her volunteer work and law related work.  She will also be engaged in voice lessons as she loves to sing.  Shelly is quite talented and is always looking for ways to improve as a person.  

Heart, intellect, and voice . . .  Be on the lookout for great and wonderful things from Shelly Kurland in the future .  .  .
