On Monday morning, September 30, staff, volunteers and participants at CSCVVSB were treated to a wonderful sight as they approached the building. Dozens of beautifully painted rocks adorned the flower beds, sidewalks, and planters surrounding the entrance.
A closer look soon showed that the rocks were decorated with flowers, animals, pink ribbons, and uplifting messages in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. What's more, there was a small sign among these small but mighty art pieces, naming them Breast Cancer Warrior Rocks, and encouraging people to take a rock for themselves and/or to rehide somewhere to increase breast cancer awareness.
Staff and volunteers asked everyone they could think of to find out who left the rocks, but nobody had any idea! It truly was a selfless, anonymous gesture! If you haven't stopped by the center in the last couple of weeks, please come by and admire this beautiful display, then find a rock to take and keep...or pass it on in honor of all the breast cancer warriors in the past, present, and future.
