“Precision Beauty” Moraga Art Gallery Hosts a Show of “Cabochon” Jewelry and Watercolors
Runs Now through August 11, Rheem Shopping Center, at 522 Center Street, Moraga
“Precision Beauty,” the Moraga Art Gallery’s new exhibit, features interpretations of nature in the form of jewelry by member artist Kuniko Kay Nitta of Walnut Creek and watercolor paintings by Berkeley’s Karen Kramer. Running through August 11, the show also includes work by the gallery’s 13 other members. The gallery is located in the Rheem Shopping Center, at 522 Center Street, Moraga. "Surreal" at The Jennifer Perlmutter Gallery

The Jennifer Perlmutter Gallery is pleased to present "Surreal," which opens on August 2, 2018, featuring the work of Bay Area artist Tom Gehrig. The exhibit will also include works by Catherine Moore, Carol Aust, and sculpture by Southern California artist Emily Maddigan. In times when truth is stranger than fiction, and the daily news feels surreal, we look to art for understanding and perspective. Viewers will be delighted by this engaging exhibit of work, a tribute to surreal art. The exhibit is on view through September 1, 2018, with an artist's reception on August 2, from 6:00-8:00pm.

Lafayette Community Foundation Presents Its 10th Annual Senior Symposium

Lafayette Community Foundation's (LCF) 10th Annual Senior Symposium, “Aging By Design” will take place on Saturday, August 4 from 8:30 a.m. - noon at Acalanes High School (Please Note New Location). Attendees will hear from a variety of experts about the latest findings on aging while maintaining independence. In addition, several vendors and non-profit agencies will have booths at the Symposium's Resource Fair providing information about their products and services. Attendance is FREE. “Landscape: Plein Air to Imaginaire”

The Lamorinda Arts Alliance presents a new exhibit titled “Plein Air to Imaginaire”. The participating artists have expanded the notation of landscape by exhibiting art that includes traditional scenes of hills and valleys to wild interpretation of landscape through color and texture. Free to attend.
Lamorinda Arts Alliance is an organization of local artists and friends who reside or work in the area. Its purpose is to promote and increase knowledge, appreciation and practice of the visual arts, and to enhance the cultural development of Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda and the surrounding communities.

14th Annual Summer Wine Festival

Lamorinda CERT Presentation: Large Animal Rescue

Jim Breuner, besides being a CERT instructor, is a member of a large animal rescue team. He will speak about the challenges and methods of rescuing animals (both large and small) from dangerous situations. He will also cover preparing for disasters and evacuating with your animals.

NorCal Kids Triathlon
Saturday, August 18
The NorCal Kids Triathlon is a sprint distance triathlon held annually in Orinda, CA. Kids ages 4 to 14 years are invited to participate in this fun event that encourages exercise in a fun environment. Offered for 2018 are individual divisions from ages 4 to 14 years old. There will not be a relay division this year.

A Brighter Day 3rd Annual Charity Appreciation Golf Event

However, today, there exist terrific resources in formats that teenagers can understand, to help them in multiple ways with these issues, while still allowing the teen to retain their much-needed dignity that they desire. Connected Horse at Xenophon - New Program for People Affected by Early Stage Dementia
Xenophon Therapeutic Riding Center in collaboration with Connected Horse is offering Equine Assisted Workshops for people with early stage dementia and their care partners.
- No prior horse experience needed to participate. Participants will be engaging with horses from the ground, no riding.
- All participants must be ambulatory and willing to participate together.
- There is no fee to participate
- Xenophon is located in Orinda
The Connected Horse program is based on research conducted through UC Davis School of Medicine and Center for Equine Health.
