SFIC Offers Prayers and Encourages Support for
Aid Response to Northern California Fires

The San Francisco Interfaith Council (SFIC) joins our City's communities of faith in offering up prayers for all those affected and fighting the current, devastating Northern California fires. The Carr Fire, in particular, which started a week ago, has burned 98,724 acres and is just 20% contained, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Flames have destroyed at least 966 structures in the area, making it one of the top 10 most destructive wildfires in California history.

Throughout San Francisco, we encourage houses of worship to extend an invitation to make an offering to support the critical and time sensitive on-the-ground aid work being undertaken.
