The theme of this Sunday will be the service we have given to this church and this community through our present and past ministries. We will consider our own gifts and talents and how we as a community have employed them to make this church the vibrant place it is. Come listen to our guest speaker celebrate our gifts, talents and ministries.
SAVE THE DATE!
Consecration Sunday is on Sunday, October 27. We are privileged to have the Rt. Reverend Dr. Carol Gallagher, Regional Canon of the Diocese, delivering the sermon. Consecration Sunday is a time when we can recognize the dedications of our past parishioners and make our dedications toward our own spiritual development. Please save the date.
We will have a Pot Luck Brunch on Consecration Sunday. The menu theme will be Chili. Please consider signing up to bring a main dish, a side dish or brunch supplies. There is a sign up poster in the window nearest to the side door in the Annex corridor.

LEARNING, SHARING & SERVICE for OUR CHILDREN & YOUTH
We are
so proud
of our youth and children
, several of whom served with grace and good humor at our 9am service this past Sunday. Readers, ushers, acolytes, singers, and more - we can look to this generation for hope and inspiration!
Thank you
(and thanks always, adults, for supporting and loving the youngest members of our St Paul's family)!
October = 9am worship time.
No classes on 10/13 - holiday weekend; CGS is 10/20 & 27; Lighthouse is 10/20 at 9am
l!
Children and teachers gather then in the Community Room (follow the sheep!), and head to classrooms:
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
, Levels 1 & 2 (ages 3-9), and (on 1st 3 Sundays, so October 20)
The Lighthouse
(ages 10-13)
.
Registration
is open
throughout the year.
Friends, visitors, newcomers always welcome!
Middle schoolers, shine your light! Check out the Lighthouse (ages 10-13).
Join your peers, and teacher Emily Russin, for classroom time the first 3 Sundays each month, plus a variety of activities - fun and service - on 4th & 5th Sundays!
Class is 10/20 this month.
Each Sunday, our children spin a globe to select somewhere in the world for which to pray. We pray for those children, each of them God's child . . . we are precious in His sight!
Middle School Retreat at the Barbara C. Harris Camp
is November 15-17.
Register
here
. (Send Linda
a note
or speak with Emily Russin - we'll coordinate our St Paul's participation.) It's a great time! Scholarships are available through our office.
Our
High School youth
are thoughtful, hopeful, lively, and intelligent - but you knew that! Some of them joined Meg, Brad, and Linda for brunch this past Sunday to kick off their new group. Ideas and plans come from them; adults facilitate: want to be a part? 9th -12th graders always welcome! Gail Bishop-Davis is leader; Linda and Meg are ardent supporters. What will our high schoolers think of? What will they do? Stay tuned!
High schoolers!
Here's a call to action! Sign up by December 13 for
"Faith in Action" Las Fronteras Pilgrimage, August 2020.
Connect with Linda
to learn more, or reach out to The Rev. H. Mark Smith to register: 617-482-4826, ext. 215 or

.
SPC member and NHS student Charlie Ives recommends this program - talk to him!
St Paul's cares for our
young adults!
WHOoooo would like to surprise them with Halloween treats, gift cards, etc.? We're assembling
care packages
to remind these special people that we're thinking
about them! To contribute, drop off treats, useful/fun items, gift cards - there's a box by the pulpit - or donate a check (please write "Young Adult Care Package" on the memo line)
by October 20
.
Notes of encouragement are welcome, too - drop them off in the box and we'll distribute them, gratefully!
Thank you!

FALL FAIR & SILENT AUCTION

St. Paul's Church Fall Fair & Silent Auction
Saturday, November 9, 2019 -
Diamond Anniversary!
|
|
Just one month to go before our Diamond Jubilee Fall Fair – 60 years of inviting our local community to a wonderful day of treasures and fellowship!
This week we’re going to talk about volunteering – again. But first we want to make it clear that signing up does not mean you are committing to a huge amount of time. There are lots of options: a couple of hours on Fair Day, maybe half or all day on Fair Day, one or two hours a few days prior to the day, a couple of hours a week now until the Fair. All of these options are welcomed and needed. It’s completely up to you to write your own schedule. The sign-up sheet is on the notice board or contact Mary or Annie, see below.
We need help in many of the areas on Fair Day, and some during the days leading up to the day. More specifically:
Work on
Clothing
is starting now. This area requires a lot of help in sorting, ironing, etc. as well as help in selling on Fair Day. Anne Smith and Marcia Hansbury are in the building a couple of mornings a week and at weekends to work on this and would welcome extra hands. Please contact Anne at
[email protected]
or leave a message at 978-462-6131 if you have any time to help out here.
We would like help with selling tickets for the
Raffle
starting a couple of weeks before Fair Day. And we need someone who can organize promoting ticket sales before and during Fair Day, and keeping records of tickets sold prior to the day.
The
Books
area needs help a few days before Fair Day to sort and price, plus taking a shift or two selling on Fair Day.
Our
Dollar Store
is very popular and we need volunteers to take shifts on Fair Day.
We are still looking for help with
Set-up and Clean-up
. This, of course, is before and after Fair Day. If possible we would like to have a volunteer to coordinate this important function.
We would love to have more goods for our
Craft
area so if you are making something – thank you! Please let Eldeen Suda at
[email protected]
or 978-270-2455 know as soon as possible what you are planning to bring so that the displays can be planned ahead of time.
To offer your help, or for more information in general on the Fair & Silent Auction, contact Mary Olson 503-702-8693 or Annie Winslow 508-733-0651.

Please Take Time to Catch-up on Your St. Paul's Pledge
During the summer we typically see a drop in anticipated income for operating expenses. This summer has been more so (10% of 2019 budgeted income), so please check your pledge account so we can maintain our ongoing operating expenses. Deb is happy to answer any questions about where you stand on your 2019 pledge at
[email protected] or 978-465-5351. We appreciate your support.

Request for Singers for Rev. Sarah Mato's Children's Baptism
Hello friends! This is a last plea/favor for a collaborative choir to sing at my children's baptism on
Oct. 18th
. One of the two pieces is the lullaby I sing to my kids every night that was arranged by a dear friend of mine. The other piece will be a hymn that another friend is composing but it's not quite done yet. I would love to have y'all join the St. Paul's North Andover choir on that Friday evening. Music Director Ed Stauff can let you know of rehearsals and other information. Of course, there is always a need for tenors! Please let me or Ed Stauff at
[email protected]
know if you will be able to sing or if you will just be joining us
Friday, Oct. 18th.
(Bishop Alan Gates will preside.) Thank you sooo much!

Skylark Vocal Ensemble welcomes three world-renowned basso-profundos
to perform the greatest masterwork for a cappella choir.
This promises to be a truly once-in-a lifetime event.
In the first ever collaboration of its kind, Skylark's performances of All-Night Vigil ('Vespers') will include the
full 22-member Skylark ensemble
which will come together with three incredible, world-renowned basso profundos:
Eric Alatorre
, who recently retired from a 30-year career as basso profundo with the Grammy® Award-winning all male Chanticleer ensemble,
Glenn Miller
, the United States' leading basso profundo and
Adrian Peacock
, from Great Britain, an award-winning, Grammy®-nominated audio producer who is also an internationally acclaimed bass choral singer and soloist.
"
These three giants of the choral world are appearing together for the first time
