The 83rd Regional Exhibition of Art & Craft is one of the oldest juried exhibitions in New England. This year's show features 106 artworks by 90 artists from 44 cities and towns!

Worcester artist Howard Johnson is one of the most original and distinctive artists working in New England today. His visionary artworks reflect his interests in philosophy, mythology, science fiction, and popular culture - among other things.

This exhibition is the result of the sixth annual collaboration between the  Fitchburg Art Museum and ArtsWorcester.  The historic motto of our nation --- out of many,  one ---   is also a way to conceptualize how we make and think about art.

This exhibition presents photographs from FAM's Permanent Collection that feature windows and mirrors as compositional devices that inform and direct how we, as viewers, see. 


SUMMER WORKSHOPS / CLASSES
Summer Art Classes for ages 5-8 and 9-12
August 6 - 10

Classes in drawing and painting, sculpture, STEAM, and more.

Morning and afternoon options: 
9am - 12pm and/or  12:30 - 3:30pm

Sign up for one or two 5-day classes per child
$105 Family-level Museum members, $125 Non-members per 5-day class

For students taking a morning and afternoon class,
there is a $15 additional fee for supervision
during lunch (students must provide their own lunch)

8:30am early drop-off and  3:30 - 5:30pm 
late pick-up available for additional  fees.

Howard Johnson's solo exhibition, "Phantastrophies," is on view now at the Fitchburg Art Museum (FAM) through September 30. Organized by FAM's museum director, Nick Capasso, the exhibition continues FAM's interest in providing solo exhibitions for New England artists

Worcester artist Howard Johnson gets solo show at Fitchburg Art Museum

For many years, things were black and white for Worcester artist Howard Johnson. "But the galleries put an end to that," said the artist, whose meticulous, deeply layered drawings can be found in major galleries and museums.

F rom the ashes of a 2016 fire, the artist housing project at the former B.F. Brown School, now called the Fitchburg Arts Community, is moving forward.
