Maple Road Reconstruction Project Update
Despite heavy rainfall this week, construction crews were able to put together another productive week on the project to reconstruct Maple Road from Southfield to Woodward. Some of the updates from this week include:

  • Work on the 12-inch sanitary main line from Woodward to Old Woodward is complete and all sanitary sewer leads from buildings to the main line have been installed.
  • The 450 feet of 12-inch sewer main line between Pierce and Chester has been installed.
  • Work began on the 12-inch water main between Woodward and Old Woodward.
  • Because this project is being completed in conjunction with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), work can’t take place over the Memorial Day weekend. The project site is to be secured by 3 p.m. on Friday, May 22 and work can’t resume until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26.

Next week, we plan to continue water main installation between Woodward and Old Woodward and begin installation of sanitary sewer leads from buildings to the main line between Pierce and Chester. Preparation for the water main lining across Woodward will require lane closures at Maple and Woodward beginning Tuesday, May 26 and is expected to remain in place for approximately three weeks.
