"At the Table" Dinner Group
At The Table dinner groups invite you to join in the fun. Get to know your STMAA community in small groups of 6-9 people gathered to share a meal. Generally, hosting duties rotate among the group members homes. Don’t feel you have the ability to host at your home? Offer to co-host with another group member or sponsor a meal at a local restaurant where members “go Dutch”.
If you are interested in joining, please email Marty Pyle at marty@mpyleart.com . If you participated in the most recent At The Table and want to continue – do nothing - but, check your email for more information. If you no longer want to participate in these groups, email Marty and let him know

Horizons Arts Ministry at St. Michael’s presents a fall lecture series from the KU Osher Professional and Continuing Education program on Kansas History:
From Trails to Rails: the Historical Geography of Urbanization in Kansas

The first segment of this presentation will examine the early trails of Territorial Kansas and how they gave way to the development of cattle towns at the railheads of Ellsworth, Hays, Wichita and Dodge City. Then an evaluation will discuss how the two most valuable resources in Kansas-oil and natural gas-helped urbanize southeast Kansas and the "oil patch" towns of western Kansas. The final segment focuses on how early promotional efforts led to the rise of Wichita; how Topeka "captured" the state capital; and how Lawrence became the classic college town.

S pencer Hall, 2:00 pm-4:00 pm
One must pay for all 3 sessions, $50. If you are affiliated with St. M’s, there is a $20 discount. If you have an alum association number from KU or K State, there is another 10% discount.

Ever Thought about Becoming a Stephen Minister?
We will be sharing more about what it means to become a Stephen Minister for one hour on Sunday, October 13 th at 12:15 in the South Classroom . Stephen Ministers work alongside our clergy to care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support to people who are going through a difficult time, such as divorce, grief, hospitalization, unemployment, terminal illness, relocation, chronic illness, or loneliness. If you have gifts for caring, encouragement, and listening, please begin to prayerfully consider whether you might want to be part of this important ministry. If you think you might be interested, contact:

BREAKFAST AT ST. PAUL’S THANKS DAVE MACKAY
For the past 7 years, Dave Mackay has been picking up the Breakfast at St. Paul’s weekly order from Sam’s Club and delivering the same to St. Paul’s kitchen. This included 50 pound boxes of potatoes, 15 dozen egg boxes, and various other heavy items. The Breakfast thanks Dave for being so reliable and for providing such a valuable service for the past 7 years!

Sadly, for the Breakfast, this Friday, October 11 th is Dave’s last “run” to Sam’s Club. We will be forever grateful for his time, talent, and organizational skills.

If any robust St. Michael’s retiree or parishioner who has Fridays off work would like to consider taking up the baton from Dave Mackay, please contact Julie Marcus by email: julie.marcus303@sbcglobal.net or text: 913-461-7133
