Parent Resources & Updates
Early Intervention Program Update
Roscoe Village
Our toddler groups are learning about summer vocabulary - using lots of  words as we have fun making lemonade, painting ice cream cones with shaving cream, pretending to have our own ice cream stand, making bubble prints, and making/eating ice cream sundaes!

Parents are learning and practicing the valuable strategy of using repetition of key vocabulary throughout the morning.

The Toddler Group will have 15 children this Fall with an exciting new m odification.  We are incorporating the twin siblings of 3 of our toddlers with hearing loss into the group!   We continue to provide family education and support through the growing voices grant program.  Additionally, w e will see 27 children in their homes for speech and Aural Rehab therapies.

We have also applied for a grant to examine the relationship between language development and service delivery mode for young children with hearing loss. This is a collaboration grant with Northwestern University.  We should hear if we are accepted in September - Stay Tuned!

Selecting Books For Your Child
"Summer shouldn't mean taking a break from learning, especially reading. Studies show that most students experience a loss of reading skills over the summer months, but children who continue to read will gain skills." ( www.readingrockets.org).   Click Here to read more about summer reading tips

Audiology Program Update
MED-EL is getting closer to the  ADHEAR availability in the US, and you'll want to learn more about it. ADHEAR is a non-surgical solution for conductive hearing loss with a unique "stick, click, hear" concept. ADHEAR clicks into an adhesive adapter that sticks onto the skin just behind the ear, applying no pressure against the skin. There is no need for a softband, so patients can wear ADHEAR discreetly and comfortably behind their ear.  To learn more about ADHEAR, please Click Here
