Get those tiny paintbrushes ready for the 13th Annual Neighborhood Block Blitz this
Friday, September 13,
on Syracuse's Westside in and around Leavenworth Park. We KNOW that it will be a very lucky and productive day with more than 300 volunteers expected to work on almost 60 properties. The day will kick off with some encouraging words from Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh and Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon at 9am near the Leavenworth Park gazebo.
We're painting, paving, planting and everything in between on houses, parks, old school buildings and some properties that defy description! This year, in addition to our corporate and community volunteer teams, we expect an unprecedented amount of students from area schools including CNS, ESM, Innovation Tech and Fowler High Schools and Syracuse University who are all excited to help out with neighborhood projects even more than missing class!
This crazy little event is also Home HeadQuarters' only fundraiser of the year, so we say a giant thank you to everyone who is helping sponsor projects, people, food and all of our programs and services supporting Central New York homeowners and families working on homeownership! And to all our volunteers who put up with driveway sealer covered shoes, mulch in their hair, iffy weather and a one meatball lunch while sitting on a curb--we salute you!
