Upcoming Meetings and Education Sessions
There have always been “privacy laws,” but the first global law that affected credit unions was the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. Now we have GDPR (European Union) and will soon have to deal with CCPA, maybe. So, let’s take some time to review all we have at this point. In the process, we will explore: (1) a brief review of privacy concepts; (2) GLB past and today; (3) review GDPR for reminders and comparisons to CCPA; and (4) assess CCPA in depth (to include scope and who it applies to, assessment rules and requirements, liability and de-risking, and the proposed California AG rules for CCPA). This webinar, presented by Todd Sherpy of Sherpy & Jones, P.A., will guide you through all these topics and more.
Plans are underway for a Legislative Affairs Forum you won’t want to miss! Heading into the critical 2020 elections, our featured speakers will be nationally recognized political commentators Sarah Stewart Holland and Beth Silvers, who host the  Pantsuit Politics  podcast and wrote the book  I Think You’re Wrong (But I’m Listening) ,  focusing on restoring civility to political conversations. You’ll also get the latest news on what is happening at the Statehouse and hear about political and regulatory developments impacting credit unions in 2020.

Following the Forum, our annual reception for state legislators runs from 5 - 7 p.m. and gives credit union leaders the chance to personally interact with their state representatives and senators. The State Legislator Reception continues to be a very important part of the day, as we work to build relationships with the many new legislators who have joined the Indiana General Assembly in recent years.  We strongly encourage you to register for the State Legislator Reception and stay to talk to your legislators about all that your credit union is doing for its members and community.

The AffirmX Solution
Traditional models of consulting are costly in terms of both the utilization of company resources and billing rates. To solve this problem, AffirmX created a hybrid solution: patented technology plus experienced analysts.

Risk Intel Center can help your credit union reduce risk management workloads, anxieties and costs. The platform draws on internal and external data to help you revolutionize the way you audit and review alignment with policy, strategy, regulation, and community.

But complete automation can’t deliver the kind of analysis your credit union needs. By bringing together former regulatory examiners, attorneys, industry CEOs and audit specialists, we created a unique approach to auditing. We perform our reviews off-site, which drastically reduces the costs.

AffirmX enables credit unions to prioritize risk management tasks and remediation and, above all, stay on top of consumer regulatory compliance requirements.
