Message from the Chamber
Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce Announces
Operations and Fund Development Manager
Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce announces Operations and Fund Development Manager, Kimberly Powell, effective June 1st. Kimberly is an award winning, global sales executive and seasoned strategic planner, who is passionate about empowerment across individual, corporate and non-profit sectors.
"As the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce and our charitable arm, the Dallas Black Chamber Center for Excellence, plan for the future and align ourselves with our members and strategic partners, Kimberly's 20+ years managing relationships with Fortune 50 companies enhances our strategic approach. Kimberly will assist in developing initiatives expanding our advocacy for businesses and youth in the African-American Community." - Darren L. James, Chairman
Kimberly's role was announced at our June 6th Executive Business Summit. As Operations & Fund Development Manager, she will lead the Chamber's programs and staff while the Chamber conducts an executive search for a new President.
"I have always had a front row seat to business, being the daughter of entrepreneurs whose initial company, Cincy Powell's Peach Basket, was the first upscale steakhouse and club in Oak Cliff, opened in the 1980's, catering to a mixed clientele. Early in my career I worked as a loan officer in my family's subsequent business, Citizen's Fidelity Mortgage. I am excited to add value for our Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce members and partners. Relationships drive business results, and I believe the way in which one cultivates, nurtures and leverages relationships is a key element to success - especially for entrepreneurs." - Kimberly Powell, Operations and Fund Development Manager
"
We are pleased to have an individual with Kimberly's experience assisting us during this transition period as well as assisting us in preparation for our Dallas Black Chamber Center for Excellence Inaugural Benefit Concert being held on September 7
th at the Toyota Music Factory. Please join us as we welcome Kimberly into the Dallas Black Chamber and the Dallas Black Chamber Center for Excellence.
" - Katrina Keyes, Vice Chair
