Lost and Found
Miss Meg recommends Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers

A quirky but endearing story of a boy who finds a penguin at his door. Realizing the penguin is lost, the boy is determined to help the sad fellow find his home. The boy asks everyone he can think of including his bath time rubber ducky if they know where the penguin belongs. He even checks with the Lost and Found office and when he realizes penguins come from the South Pole, he decides he will take him there. They set out in a row boat, packed with all the provisions they will need for the journey. They float through treacherous weather while the boy helps pass the time by telling many stories which the penguin listens to with rapt attention. When they finally arrive, the boy excitedly helps the penguin out of the boat and says goodbye. As he sets off, the boy looks back to see the penguin starring sadly after him. When he realizes how sad he also feels and that he made a mistake, he turns back. They reunite and as the inside cover states, "it's the tale of an unlikely friendship that, once found, can never be lost."
