You are Amazing!
Both the Nurses & the People of St. Martin's!
Last Sunday after worship we had a "Reverse Auction." That means that instead of bidding against each other to win something we wanted individually, we all bid together, contributing within a few minutes over $1,300, to achieve a gift together as a way to say thank you to some of the nurses who so bravely are working in danger's way now in our many hospitals. A local dad came to Fr. Mulder last week with the story of his two girls, both of whom are working the night shift at Morristown Hospital. "What can we do to support them?" "Feed them," he said, because most of the donated food has been coming during the day shift and is gone by the time the night nurses arrive.
So thanks to Steve Schwartzinger, the Executive Chef at Hamilton Farm in Gladstone, a delicious meal will be delivered this Saturday night to the hospital.
In addition, many of you are literally providing the icing on the cake, by making desserts that will be delivered that same night.
And then, as if the blessings are not already overflowing from this experience, you contributed enough funds in our Reverse Auction to make a big donation to the Food Pantry, which will be added to the food we collect Sunday afternoon.
Thank you, St. Martin's! The Church is the people, and you truly are acting like the Body of Christ in and for the world! Great stuff - keep it up! And may God bless you richly for your rich blessing of others in God's name!

If you've ever been angry ...
You have something in common with Jesus
Thursday Night Forum
Everyone knows Jesus got angry that day he turned over the currency exchange desks outside of the Temple, but how many other times do you remember Jesus showing his anger?
Join Fr. Tim as he leads us in a consideration of the nine times the Bible tells us Jesus got angry. What might we learn about the anger we sometimes experience when we consider Jesus' anger? When is anger a good thing, not a good thing, or a warning sign?
No homework, but have a Bible with you.
Thursdays, 7:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Keeper of the Light
There is a light at St. Martin's that never goes out. We call it the "Sanctuary Light" because it hangs in the sanctuary portion of the chancel (front of the church) directly lighting the Reserved Sacrament. It reminds us of the presence of Christ who is with us always. But during this time when we are not able to be in our building, members of the parish have been taking turns caring for the light for a period of one week at a time in their own home and then passing it on to another member for the next week, until we can all be together again in the church building.
This week's keeper of the light is Diane Miller.
