The U.S.-Russia Chamber of Commerce (USRCC) invites you to participate in a Trade mission to the  St. Petersburg International Economic Forum . Participants will have an opportunity to meet Russian government officials and some of the most influential leaders in U.S.-Russia trade and investment relations. The USRCC will coordinate private meetings, an exclusive CEO Roundtable and introductions, in addition to attending the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPEIF).

Russia's Power of Siberia 83% complete: Gazprom

Kallanishebergy.com, May 21, 2018: Russian gas giant Gazprom said last week its Power of Siberia gas pipeline is 83% finished, as the "ambitious" project progresses toward commissioning in 2019, Kallanish Energy reports.
The roughly 3,000-kilometer (1,864-mile) onshore pipeline will transport 38 billion cubic meters per year (Bcm/y) of Russian gas to customers in Russia's Far East and China. The so-called eastern route is underpinned by a 30-year sales and purchase agreement between Gazprom and China's CNPC, through which supplies start flowing on Dec. 20, 2019.

Rosneft will make final decision on investments in two deposits in Venezuela in 2020

Tass.com, May 21, 2018: Rosneft plans to take a final investment decision on participation in the development of two gas fields of Patao and Mejillones off the coast of Venezuela in 2020, the company said in its annual report.
Rosneft (through its subsidiary) owns 100% of the shares in the project. The Russian company has the right to export the entire volume of produced gas (minus royalties paid in kind).
"The next stage of the project includes implementation of conceptual and basic design. After that in 2020 it is planned to make a final investment decision regarding the participation of Rosneft in the development of the fields," according to the document.  Read more...

Russia and France to build business bridges at SPIEF 2018

Tass.com, May 22, 2018: Bilateral discussions within business dialogue between Russia and other key economies from different regions are traditionally given a important role in the Business Programme of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The Russia-France Business Dialogue will take place on 25 May and is expected to draw much attention.

South Korea looks to boost economic ties with Russia

Rt.com, May 21, 2018: Seoul is seeking to significantly ramp up business with Moscow, according to recent talks between the foreign ministers of the two countries.
South Korea wants to speed up the building of the so-called "nine bridges" meaning gas, railways, the Northern Sea Route, shipbuilding, job creation, fishing and other types of cooperation.
The initiative was first proposed by President Moon Jae-in during the Eastern Economic Forum in Russia. During the meeting of foreign ministry officials, the countries also agreed to look at building trilateral economic ties with North Korea.
Last month, South Korean diplomat Kang Kyung-wha said Russia could build a natural gas pipeline to the country through the North's territory. "Should the security situation on the Korean Peninsula improve, we will be able to review the pipeline natural gas (PNG) business involving the two Koreas and Russia," she said then.  Read more...
Digital market of satellite services in Russia will grow sevenfold by 2025 - Roscosmos

Tass.com, May 22, 2018: The Russian market of digital satellite services may grow sevenfold by 2025, head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos Igor Komarov said on Tuesday."The digital satellite services market is expected to grow from five to seven times by 2025, and Roscosmos plays and will play an increasingly important role in this market. The infrastructure of navigation and communications will develop new businesses and it will become the driver of the economy," he said speaking at the presentation of space service for digital economy.  Read more...
Novatek creates maritime arctic transport company

Themeditelegraph.com, May 21, 2018: Moscow - Russia's ship giant Novatek has confirmed plans for a new Arctic LNG transhipment hub. "Establishing an efficient Northern Sea Route shipping model is one of our key priorities to realize our long-term strategy," says Leonid Mikhelson, Novatek's chairman of the management board.  Read more...
Russia's first sea-borne nuclear power plant arrives in Arctic

Reuters.com, May 21, 2018: Russia's first-floating nuclear power plant arrived in the Arctic port of Murmansk over the weekend in preparation for its maiden mission, providing electricity to an isolated Russian town across the Bering Strait from Alaska.
The state company behind the plant, called the "Akademik Lomonosov", says it could pioneer a new power source for remote regions of the planet, but green campaigners have expressed concern about the risk of nuclear accidents. Greenpeace has called it the "nuclear Titanic".  Read more...
Volga-Dnepr MRO unit opens in Liege

Aircargonews.com, May 21, 2018: Volga-Dnepr Technics Moscow (VDTM) has completed the certification of a line maintenance station in Liege, Belgium, for aircraft registered in Bermuda.
As one of the largest Russian MRO providers, the Volga-Dnepr Group business unit is now able to carry out scheduled line maintenance for Boeing 737-300/400/500, Boeing 747-400 and Boeing 747-8 aircraft. Approved scope of work includes daily maintenance and defect elimination.
Pavel Tereschenkov, VDTM general director, said: "The set-up of the line maintenance station in Liege is a huge step forward for us because it makes accessible the European maintenance market for B737-300/400/500, B747-400 and B747-8 aircraft.  Read more...
Uzbekistan happy with strengthening strategic partnership with Russia: Mirziyoyev

En.trend.az, May 22, 2018: Uzbekistan is sati sfied with consistent strengthening of the Uzbek-Russian strategic partnership, as well as with high dynamics of development of practical cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, the press service of the Uzbek president stated quoting Shavkat Mirziyoyev as saying on May 22 at a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu, who is on an official visit in Tashkent.
The sides noted intensification of contacts between agencies, regions and businesses of the two countries, joint implementation of promising programs and cooperation projects in economy and social sectors, fruitful cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.   Read more...
Russia ready to consider gas projects with Bulgaria - minister

Tass.com, May 22, 2018: Russia is ready to consider joint gas projects with Bulgaria against guarantees of the Bulgarian government and the European Commission, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said on Tuesday on the air with the Rossiya 24 TV Channel."Russia is implementing construction of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline. Bulgaria again shows interest in gas transit across its territory. In particularly, they want to consider an issue regarding the possibility of building a gas hub in Bulgaria. Russian meat giants drive up halal exports

Globalmeatnews.com, May 23, 2018: Russia exported 50,000 tonnes (t) of halal meat in 2017, up almost twofold compared to 2016, as major agricultural holdings Cherkizovo, Miratorg and GAP Resource have shown increasing interest in this segment, according to the International Center for Halal Standardization and Certification.  Read more...
To orbit and back: Russia developing Soyuz-based pilotless craft to retrieve cargo from space

Rt.com, May 19, 2018: Russia is developing an unmanned spaceship able to retrieve cargo from orbit and get back. It doesn't look like a fully reusable craft, but this is the closest you can get after the demise of the Shuttle program.
The state-of-the-art vehicle - dubbed Soyuz GVK (Cargo Retrievable Spacecraft) - will be capable of delivering two tons of cargo to orbit and bringing a 500kg load back to Earth, Russia's space corporation Energia announced on Friday. The very name of the project - which Energia says will become operational by 2022 - indicates that it will be based on the time-proven and reliable Soyuz family.  Read more...

Мантуров рассказал, когда могут начать экспорт автомобилей бренда Aurus

Ria.ru, 22 мая, 2018: Экспорт автомобилей бренда Aurus может начаться в 2020-2021 годах, сообщил глава Минпромторга РФ Денис Мантуров на презентации бренда.
Под брендом Aurus будут продаваться автомобили проекта "Кортеж" - семейство автомобилей класса люкс - лимузин, седан и минивэн - на единой модульной платформе для первых лиц государства.
"Потенциальных заказчиков начнут собирать после Московского автосалона (в августе), но в следующем году мы точно не сможем начать поставлять на экспорт - просто физически объемы производства будут уходить в России. Мы не хотим сейчас расползтись по объемам, чтобы потерять качество, но объемы нужно наращивать по мере возможностей", - сказал Мантуров.   Читать далее...
