SUGAR LAND 95 LAID TO REST, MEMORIAL SERVICE TO BE HELD IN SPRING
The remains of 95 individuals discovered at an unmarked and historic cemetery, who have become known as the Sugar Land 95, have been laid to rest at the site where their remains were found, as the arduous process continues to identify any possible descendants through the analysis of DNA. Fort Bend ISD students will lead a public memorial in the spring to celebrate the historic discovery, and the District will keep the community updated as these plans are finalized. READ MORE

The I Believe Foundation presents $10,000 gift to the Willowridge Wall of Honor, Inc. to fund scholarships and grants
Willowridge High School will benefit greatly from a $10,000 gift presented to the Willowridge Wall of Honor, Inc. by the I Believe Foundation. The organization was among 20 award recipients honored during the Foundation’s annual Magic of Believing Gala, held November 23. The honorees received monetary gifts to promote their efforts in supporting youth and young adults in achieving successful futures. The Willowridge Wall of Honor, Inc. will use the gift to fund scholarships for graduating seniors and grants to support academic and athletic programs at Willowridge. READ MORE
ANNUAL CTE PROGRAM EXPLORATION NIGHT A SUCCESS
On Nov. 20, the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department hosted its annual Program Exploration Night at the Reese Career and Technical Center, welcoming FBISD p arents and students, especially current 7th to 11th graders. District CTE Director Meredith Watassek welcomed guests and presented an overview of the CTE program, enrollment requirements and more. Throughout the evening, attendees visited information stations to learn about the various CTE programs offered to District middle and high school students and available courses. They also had the opportunity to meet with industry experts, teachers and current CTE students to ask questions relating to Health Science, Automotive, Business and Finance, Engineering, Culinary Arts, JROTC, Agriculture, Cosmetology, Networking, Welding and Firefighting. Several students also received door prizes sponsored by CTE business partners.
