Dive: Well Worthy
Monona Divers are 5-1 going into the last dual meet of the season this Friday against Parkcrest. On Friday, the 13th, Monona topped Nakoma 78-16 and won 6 of the 8 events. Champions for Monona were Josette Rossing for the 10 & under girls, Abby Bykowski for the 11-12 girls, Katoa Bogileka for the 13-14 boys, Mati Mabie for the 13-14 girls, Steven Blew for the 15-18 boys and Trinity McNall for the 15-18 girls. Other top 3 finishers were Landry Ganshert (2nd), Benny Brezinski (3rd), Mikayla McQueeney (2nd) and Mya Howe (3rd) for 10 & under age group, Tiesto Nuon (2nd), Gavin Larson (3rd), Emeilia Hopper (2nd) and Kendyl Mabie (3rd) for the 11-12 age group, Maddie Farwell (2nd) and Lauren Buss (3rd) for the 13-14 girls, and Will Blew (3rd) for 15-18 boys.

Other standouts include Kinley Mabie for improving her score by 27 points since the beginning of the season and learning 2 new dives this week!  Katherine Roberts successfully competed a double somersault for the first time and we are beginning to be known as the reverse team as we have more diving competing a reverse dive than any other team in the league! Almost every diver on the team had their highest score of the season which is a great precursor to finishing the season very well at the ALL-CITY Diving Championships next week on Monday and Tuesday.

A big thank you to our home meet workers who ran a very efficient meet.  Kristen Mabie and Kristine Buss ran the computer scoring while Patrick Howe did the announcing, Chris Haas and Kim Hart did awards and Kathy Howe stepped in and did a great job judging several age groups! There were also numerous parents who helps set up and tear down the meet which helped us get out before the storm hit. Thank you everyone for your help.
Second Harvest Challenge This Week! Who Will Win?
In preparation for All-City next week, your MO coaches want to encourage a little friendly competition within our team.

Introducing the Second Harvest Age Group Challenge where 10 & Unders will compete against 11 & Ups. The winning group will earn a prize from coaches.

There are two ways to help your age group:

  • Bring non-perishable items to practice and place in the appropriate laundry baskets/barrels that will be on deck. See the list below for items needed.

  • Bring your pennies for a penny war! Coach Kelly will have money jars for you to contribute your change and help Monona Swim & Dive help stop hunger!

Don't forget you can donate online, too!

Make Sure to Download The All-City Swim App Before The Magical Event!
Our test-run of the All-City Swim app was a huge success last Saturday!

We are so excited to debut the app at the All-City Swim meet next week! If you haven't already downloaded the app, make sure to do so today!

There are countless advantages to the app vs a physical program.

  • Cost savings...Heat sheets will be available on the app. The cost of paper heat sheets at the meet is $5 per session while the app is FREE!! Yep, I said free!
  • Zero Waste, literally! Paperless means no trees sacrificed.
  • Push notifications will keep you up to date on staging and events in the water for your swimmer(s). No more guessing!
  • All information in one place! You will have information regarding concessions, senior profiles, parking availability, events and staging, and more at your fingertips!

We can't wait to experience this first with all of you! Download it today!!

Zero Waste Update
This week's dual meet against Goodman and Westside put more than 360 swimmers in our pool, plus an unknown number of family and friends that came to cheer them on. And despite that high attendance, our Zero Waste team still reported a very low 1.5 bags of landfill trash at the end of it all.

We are ready to pull off the first ZW All-City Swim event in league history. Thanks to all our volunteers, we cannot do it without you!
