Winter has finally arrived in Quebec and Montreal area. Christmas 2020 was special, like the rest of the year. All the snow melted and we beat the record temperatures at 12 degrees celsius.
We had a perfect fall for golf, the golfers were happy to play later than usual at most public and private golf courses. Last fall was also perfect to start and complete renovation projects.

Government of Canada Announcement -
Regulation of phosphite/phospohorus acid materials
New regulatory requirements will be required October 26, 2023.
The review was conducted by the CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency); and have determined that phosphite materials, when sold on their own, do not meet the definition of a plant nutrient.
Adding that phosphites also do not meet the definition of a ‘supplement’ as they do not improve the physical condition of the soil or aid plant growth. Due to the fungicidal mode of action these products will fall under the Pest Control Products Act administered by the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA).
The result of the review is that the PMRA will have regulatory oversight for phosphite products under the Pest Control Products Act (PCPA). Once the PMRA determines that the product is compliant with the PCPA a phosphite product that is combined with soluble plant available nutrient (K or CA) may be registered under the Fertilizers Act.
