Closure of a Portion of
Lighthouse Wynd

The Village of BHI has begun work to repair the creekside ditch stabilization project near the intersection of N. Bald Head Wynd and Lighthouse Wynd. For the next couple of months, Lighthouse Wynd will serve as a staging area for the contractor's materials and will be closed to thru traffic. When heading to the Association, Village Hall or the Post Office/IPC, enter the area off of Ballast Stone Alley from N. Bald Head Wynd or from Lighthouse Wynd near the timber bridge.

Contact Assistant Manager Jeff Griffin at [email protected] with questions.

Volunteers Needed for
BHI History Project

BHA's Socialization, Education & Recreation (SER) Committee, in conjunction with the Old Baldy Foundation, is looking for volunteers to assist in cataloguing documents relative to the history and development of Bald Head Island. Neither minimum time requirements nor recurring involvement is required.

This may be a perfect activity for residents interested in the history of the development of BHI, for something to do on a rainy day or for teens and young adults looking for community service hours to add to their resumes, etc. The only requirement is that volunteers have a smart phone on which they can download a scanning application from iTunes or Google Play.

Anyone interested in volunteering a few hours can contact Elizabeth Kinney at [email protected] or Susan Panousis at [email protected] to schedule a time to appear and receive a brief training session on how to catalogue.
No Littering Campaign Begins

This spring, Bald Head Association is partnering with the Village of BHI to encourage property owners, guests, visitors, contractors and employees to help keep the Island beautiful by not littering. Watch for a new poster around the Island soon. Homeowners who rent their homes should feel free to include the poster in their rental packets.
