WEIGH IN ON UTILITY BOARD APPOINTMENT
Tonight, Tacoma City Council may push the vote on the appointment to the Public Utility Board up by two weeks. This seat is the business seat, ensuring diverse representation on the TPU Board and the business community’s voice. To guarantee your business interests are represented, contact City Council today and tell them to postpone the appointment to ensure they can appoint the most qualified individual.

The five-member Tacoma Public Utility Board oversees the operations of Tacoma's electric and water utilities and industrial freight-switching railroad. The Tacoma City Council appoints the board members and they serve five-year terms. The effective management of this public asset is critical to keeping Tacoma competitive.
WORLD-RENOWNED BUSINESS INNOVATOR TO HEADLINE SUMMIT
Mitch Lowe , CEO of MoviePass, co-founding executive of Netflix , and former President of Redbox , will present the keynote speech at the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber’s Annual South Sound Summit, October 30, 2018 at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center.

Lowe will use his experience working with successful startups to teach entrepreneurs how to simplify their business and to create a winning culture. Recently, Lowe helped grow the MoviePass subscriber base from 20,000 to millions of subscribers.

CONNECT WITH MILITARY LEADERS AT EVERGREEN FLEET CRUISE
Our service members and military families are the greatest assets in the South Sound.
 
Join the Chamber on June 20th for the annual Evergreen Fleet Cruise and connect with military leadership and spouses in a casual environment. This all-day event includes breakfast at the Tacoma Yacht Club, a cruise around the sound, and lunch at the private Wollochet Bay outstation.
 
In observance of Memorial Day, the Chamber offices will be closed Monday, May 28th.
