From your Principal...
Dear STM Families,

The school year is wrapping up quickly and includes a variety of events. Please take the time to read all sections of this memo.

I would like to once again thank you all for your generosity! With your support, we are able to purchase Fr. Hai a new Censor in recognition of his 19th Anniversary of his Ordination. We will present this gift to him (via a certificate) at our final all school mass on June 1st. Fr. Hai is not aware of this gift so please keep this a surprise!

Final reminder, join us tonight at our Barnes & Noble Bookfair at the Buffalo Speedway and Holcombe store location. Barnes & Nobel will have our required Summer Reading Books available for purchase. We have many fun activities planned including a scavenger hunt, door prizes, visit from Thomas the Tiger, and story time lead by Mrs. Fontenot, Ms. Coltharp and me. The bookfair started at 2:00pm today with our in-store activities will running from 6:00 - 8:00pm.  Don't forget to use code #12363875 for any in-store or online order so STM gets credit for the sale!  Please see the details below.

This Friday is our 8th grade Graduation. The Graduation Mass will begin at 7:00pm in the Church. Eighth grade parents, please see the Graduation section below if you have any questions. We will miss our 8th grade class and wish them much success in their future endeavors.

As a followup to my communication yesterday regarding the tragedy at Santa Fe High School, I would like to share several resource options from the Catholic Schools Office for parents who may be seeking resources on how to talk to their children and support their emotions regarding gun violence in schools.
Yours in Christ,

Kristen Thome
Principal
8th Grade Graduation News...
8th Grade Graduation is this Friday.  The Graduation Ceremony starts at 7:00pm in the Church.  All students are to meet in Servant Hall at 5:30 for pictures. If you have any questions regarding the rest of this year, please refer to the attached schedule.
6th & 7th Grade Exams...
6th & 7th Grade Final Exams are scheduled for Friday May 25th, morning and afternoon, Tuesday May 29th  (2) finals in the morning & Wednesday May 30th, (1) final in the morning.  See calendar below.  Students will receive a detailed schedule from their teachers.  Please do not schedule appointments during this time.  Makeup exams will be held on Monday June 4th.  Report cards will be held until exams are made up. Please make every effort to be in attendance for the exam at the scheduled time.
School Uniforms...
As many of you know, Parker Uniform filed bankruptcy this school year. After meeting with many vendors, we have decided to proceed with Mills Uniform as our supplier. At this time, the decision has been made to update our look and return to our original school colors. Starting next year, our uniform will be: red polo shirt, white dress uniform shirt, red cardigan and v-neck sweater, black fleece jackets, khaki shorts and pants, as well as a navy tie for the middle school boys. All tops, sweaters and jackets will have our St. Thomas More School logo embroidered on them. Our plaid will stay the same, however, short and skirt options have been updated to a more comfortable fit for our girls. Please know that previous plaid items will still be allowed and we will transition out of our green polo shirts, sweaters, and fleece over the next (3) school years. Navy pants and shorts will not be grandfathered.

Mills is working hard to get our items in their stores and anticipate availability mid-late June . They will start sizing and taking orders for our items in June and will ship back-ordered items as they are available. Families will not be charged for back-ordered items until they ship.

We will keep you updated as information and availability is provided to us. We look forward to a clean fresh look on our students next year and appreciate your support of the new uniform program.
