A PASTORAL LETTER FROM THE BISHOP

First and most importantly, please know that each of you and those you love are in my prayers daily. My appreciation and admiration for all you are doing to remain connected pastorally and spiritually with one another, and with the communities you continue to serve so faithfully, is without end. The lay and clergy leadership exhibited during this challenging time is encouraging and inspiring, and every day there are reports of the difference you are making within and beyond your congregations. How you are living through this pandemic and its consequences witnesses powerfully to the resurrection of Jesus.

An Update on Summer Camp at Bellwether Farm
This is normally the time of the year when all at Bellwether Farm are eagerly awaiting the arrival of your children to experience everything that Bellwether summer camp has to offer. It is, therefore, with great disappointment that we announce the cancellation of all scheduled camp sessions for the 2020 summer season.

Bellwether Farm, in partnership with some churches in our diocese, are putting together Soul Tending, a virtual retreat held on May 17. During the retreat, the Rev. Anita Amstutz, a Mennonite minister, will invite attendees to explore their soul's deepest longings. The day will also offer opportunity to experience Sabbath activities which will nurture and nourish our inner landscape. Bellwether Farm will be the setting with explorations into garden walks, the barn chapel, yoga, art and much more. A video introduction for the retreat is available. Set aside a Sabbath for renewal in the midst of this pandemic. While this event is free, registration is requested.

We are offering online access to the Safeguarding God's Children training. All vestry members, parish leaders, and anyone who interacts with children and youth in the church setting are required and/or encouraged to be trained. New Resource at the Resource Library
The Resource Center is offering new resources. The Very Best Day, The Way of Love for Children introduces the practices for a Jesus-centered life for children ages 3-10 and their families. Through accessible language and age-appropriate themes, it specifically addresses children and the importance of rhythm and practice in their lives as Christians, accompanied by roger Hutchinson's familiar and vibrant artwork. Christ Church, Huron will hold a Pentecost Celebration organ Concert on
May 31 at 1:00 p.m. The organist /choir director Jim Petersen will present a variety of Pentecost/celebration music and hymns on the church's historic organ. The event will celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit and look forward to the time when we can gather again. Christ Church will live stream the event on
Facebook.

St. Christopher's, Gates Mills plays a Carillon Bells concert each Sunday at 10:15 a.m. The public is welcome to come park and listen or stand by their cars, as long as proper social distancing is observed

Focus on Stained Glass Livestream
Starting with our Annunciation window on the Feast of the Annunciation, St. Timothy's, Massillon, has been live-streaming each Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., featuring one of their treasured stained glass windows, accompanied by live music from one of the parish musicians. The streams are available on the parish Facebook page.

Christ Church, Oberlin is ringing its bell every morning at 9:00 a.m. as a call to prayer for those suffering from the virus or because of the virus and to remind everyone that God is present with us at all times. Please join with us in this effort, ringing a bell at 9:00 a.m. or choosing a different time during the day.
